Rendering Bug in Some Versions of Handy?

Recommended Posts

I have noticed an odd rendering bug with Robotron in some emulators based on the original/sourceforge version of Handy...

See attached... (Handy by Richard Bannister on a Mac)

Notice the "box effect" done at the start of game and after a level is cleared is not correct.

And here is how it should look (OpenEmu on a Mac, using mednafen 1.21.3.1 core)

Seen similar with my poly draw demo.

It's a bug in the tilt/stretch handling.

We talked about this bug in this thread:

http://atariage.com/forums/topic/186720-fixing-known-bugs-in-handy-emulator/

Was a wrong handling of 1 pixel sprites.

It is fixed in later versions of Handy, such as by GadgetUK and sage.

Yes, I thought that looked familiar! I did add your fix into v0.971 - https://www.dropbox.com/s/wkn27s28t79xiye/Handy0.971.zip?dl=0

we will never get rid of these old versions .....

Sometimes for good reasons. For example the latest mednafen uses SDL2 lib which crashes on my PC.

I my now hate mednafen anyway, will not update that anymore :-/

The old one (I did delete, my bad), did play the dragnet demo w/o any noise. So at least sound is good.
