What am I missing on such a high price here?

Very perplexed by Kaboom CIB (with wear) for $172.50. What am I missing here?

Is this a rare variation or just some ignorant ebay buyer?

Very confused and curious!

Supply and demand. You can ask any price you want on ebay but that does not mean it will sell for that.

Also ridiculous prices are paid for CIB and I have no idea why other than people are willing to pay lots for CIB.

Stupid people ask stupid prices and even some stupid people pay stupid prices.

The link is a finished auction. Not just a listing with a Buy It Now.

Seems like the seller has a couple bidders bidding crazy prices on more than one of his listings.

True that on Supply and Demand good sir. We are 'merica after all! :)

Since you see I'm a big fan of Kaboom (see my AA forum name! ;) ) I've paid attention to Kaboom CIBs and NIBs over the years and have typically seen CIB's for this going at best ~ $50 but this latest auction sold for over 3x anything I've seen over the years.

Therefore, just wondering if someone knew something I didn't know like a variation on the label or box that I might have missed throughout the years.

Look at the sellers sold listings. He has a bunch of CIB stuff listed. Many of the items have sold for way more than what has been the norm the last few years.

In my opinion ...just stupid people paying stupid prices. Retro gaming is trendy now and certain CIB packages are going to sell for completely ridiculous prices.

I will say that this seller generally had the original release of each of the listed games and the boxes and manuals in general looked super clean. Having said that, the prices some of those sold for is crazy as there was very little there that doesn't show up even in the first release box/cart label on Ebay on a very regular basis. I had my eye on a few, but bailed when it became clear that the ending bids were well outside of the normal range for identical items.

Apparently this seller might be also a pervert since he has a few risque pics up for sale too.

That's sort of what what I meant by included items that weren't mentioned. Browsing just one page of his auction items is enough to back out immediately and delete your browsing history.

Those also weren't new to eBay bidders that got into a bidding war over a common game...look at their feedback score.

I won the Indy 500 gatefold still need a couple more and yes he's a pervert who collects alot of 1950 naked chic pics.

Nice. I was bidding against you on the Indy 500 one that ended today.

At least good to know that there was a legitimate winner on that one! It looked to be in great condition!

Congrats.

Thanks the big Indy box is tough to find, I have 3 Indy gatefold smaller boxed games now. In order to complete the gatefold series you need the large box not just the gatefold. I was a little surprised that I got outbid on streetracer gatefold. I ended looking at some of the guys completed listings and saw all his naked chic pic sells lol.

This sick fuck is also selling such pictures of what look like underage boys. :x

If the seller is from the US you can report to the US authorities for investigation. They take all claims of child porn very seriously and in a case of child porn sales it is almost guaranteed conviction, therapy and jail.
