Tommy talked about “friends leaderboards” on an interview yesterday which is an awesome idea ! I’m not very interested in global leaderboards. I love local leaderboards and friends leaderboards sound fantastic ! I like to know who I am beating and that way we can compete with friends and family that are not in our household !! 😜

I’m glad that the article went on to convey the fact that there is no scientific evidence that video games lead to violence.  
 

If this passes it sets an extremely bad precedence. I don’t need the government censoring what I can or cannot buy.

It's a news story, but it's doubtful it goes very far. 

 

A local radio guy put it best yesterday: Are there also a lot of boat-jackings going on that we're not hearing about?

 

As an Illinois citizen, we have a fringe in our politics that exists because of the super-majority, and they are always pitching crazy ideas just for attention.

And here are print and digital ads that thousands of stores have and millions of people receive via e-mail.  Right in there with the biggest entertainment franchise in history (Pokemon) and side by side to Playstation 5, Xbox & Nintendo.

Still haven't found pre-orders on Amazon.  Any idea when those will begin to show up?  Thanks for keeping us in the loop Tommy!

I missed this.  So are you saying Tommy said we will be able to customize the leaderboards we see with only the people we choose?  "Wouldn't that be something!"

I agree. We should exchange usernames, if they're not the same as the ones we use on here, so we can follow and compete with each other. That would be fun. An extension of hanging out in here.

 

I'm going to stick with RREDDWARFF, that's my Steam and Xbox username as well. If you all care to message me what they will be I'd be happy to make a list to share.

I’m totally game when the feature hits. You’ll all be able to see just how casual of a gammer I really am.

On the good news front it sounds like Intellivision & Amazon are preparing for something much larger than just 'yet another place to buy the standard Amicos'. They probably both want to wait and make a big splash about it.

I've held off pre-ordering from GameStop just to see what Amazon has in store.  At this point I don't lose anything waiting.  I hope there are some "exclusives" with Amazon.  There's that word again! 😁

I know, maybe the elusive Red will go with Amazon. Red matches the Target corporate colors and some think it will go to Walmart (the biggest) but in reality exclusives go to whomever gives you the best deal of cross promotion, guaranteed order quantities and so forth. Of course I wouldn't doubt there is an unannounced color Intellivision is holding back, mostly to irritate @cmart604 and force him to buy yet another Amico

This is one I can agree with you on!  I loved this game in the arcade, and like Arcade USA I played on the cockpit version in my local arcade.  Loved this, loved Star Wars more. It would be cool to see an Arcade 1Up (and Amico of course) of this too so I can put it next to my Star Wars sit down 1Up.

Glad to hear from someone in Illinois on this.  I think most states have that fringe.  The scary thing is it just takes one of these laws to pass to set a precedence and than it can snowball from there.  Luckily the 1st amendment prevails in these cases, but one of these days it just might not if people don’t challenge them.

Other than the nuisance factor, I wouldn't actually worry too much about this. In 2011 a case in California (Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association) went all the way up to the Supreme Court, which ruled that video games are protected free speech under the First Amendment.
