I've only played the Intellivision, Colecovision and Vectrex homebrew stuff.  And although some of the Intellivision stuff is a little hit and miss... overall... the quality is mind-blowing and amazing!!  Some of the coolest and best looking games for the original Intellivision and Vectrex are the homebrew stuff!  So my question is this...

 

Which system has the BEST AND HIGHEST QUALITY homebrew stuff?  I'm not a fan of Atari.  Never was and I'm still not.  Always personally disliked their graphics and controller.  That doesn't mean I don't RESPECT them and love the brand (the original brand that is)... but I just never personally liked playing the games as I either had better versions on my Apple II (and later on Colecovision) and just always thought Intellivision was so much better (because that was the system my parents saved up for and got us for Christmas).  I'm sure if they us an Atari... I'd probably be a fan! 

 

Anyway... back to the question... for those of you who know the homebrew community and are not biased towards any system.  Which system has the BEST AND HIGHEST QUALITY homebrew stuff?  Not "who has the most".  I'm assuming it's Atari.  I'm talking about the level of quality, fun and playability.  For me... it's Vectrex & Intellivision... but that is me never having played (or liking) original Atari stuff.

Well... maybe PC if I'm being 100% honest just because it's more widely distributed than most consoles and definitely has sheer volume over everything else. I don't know too much about it personally, but Dreamcast has always been really popular for that stuff. I have never owned a Dreamcast, so this is just what I have heard. I'd go check out that for sure.

 

I do know that Tanglewood came out on the Genesis/MD recently and supposedly it's good. It's also on Steam but I'm not sure if it's on any other systems. Xeno Crisis also came out on the Genesis/MD a few months ago and I know that one is really damn awesome because I have it. It has some of the most technically advanced music on the system that impressed the hell out of everyone. This one is on Steam also and I think some modern consoles. There is also Intellivania for Intellivision, which doesn't have a release yet but is currently being developed and looks really great as well. In fact, it's one of the main reasons that I bought my Intellivision.

Not even 9am here in California.  I'm sure you'll have it by the end of day. 

But again... the fact that you say things like "as long as I get the refund" bleeds that you think you're going to somehow get ripped off.  Maybe you don't think it comes across like that... but from the person on the other side... it does.

 

I respectfully asked you to give me reasons for your doubt.  You tell me I have lost credibility... yeah guy.... that's a HUGE insult whether you're willing to admit it or not.  So I kindly asked you to give me information as to why you feel this way... and you refused to answer. 

 

So to review... it's okay for you to insult me... then I treat you with respect and ask you reasons... and instead you just insult me more and declare that I'm just emotional.  You say that my response is emotional?  Yet I have been 100% professional in every way and you automatically canceled your order (not that I mind) 100% based on your own emotions or (as you put it) because I "dared" you.

That's fine.  Lets drop it.  You get your money back and I get to make someone super happy today.  We both win.  Lets just leave it at that.

I am glad I ordered the FE. I do not have a problem with a VIP edition. I can see why some might not like this because it may devalue the FE if reselling for profit. As long as there is a difference between the two editions, I don't think this will be an issue.

Ah I know... because I grew up Magnavox Odyssey 2 while all the rest of you lot were rich and used Intellivision...

Only beach I see is the sandbox out in the backyard and the local cats just use that as a literbox.

I need to buy my 1st old Intellivision so I can vacation like the rest of you all.

A ton of people (myself included) accused him of potentially crowdfunding with his original FE offer, but it sold out so quickly it would make sense to open up more pre-orders. Even if he is using the money for funding, if people want to pre-order they can, he's not saying "This won't get made unless you pre-order" like typical crowdfunding endeavors.

I get that and like the 5200 idea. I would suggest some small difference in the console itself to differentiate it from the mass produced as well as the FE. Maybe just your initials or numbering or something. I just like to discourage the type of hyper-exclusiveness with collectibles I see in pockets here and there on the forum, etc.; Like someone saying no other special pre-orders allowed or if the FE 2600 had games on it no one else would ever be able to play, I’d think that was a bit sadistic. I could give several real examples, but I won’t belabour it. But everyone will get a similarly operating Amico and be able to play all the games, so, no problem as far as I can see.

speaking of homebrew Christmas Carol for the Intellivision is one of the best homebrews on any system..any chance we see this released when the Intellivision games are released on the Amico?

Worst comes to worst you will be able to play your video games while on the toilet thanks to the Amico's bluetooth controllers.  That way not even diarrhea can stop you and that truly is the ultimate Montezuma's Revenge! 😂🤣
