Are there any plans to let indie developers make games for the Amico? Also, are you guys going to accept games based on ESRB rating scores or are you going to decide for yourselves if the games are family friendly enough to be on the Amico?

We hand pick each and every developer for the system. So in that regards, it is open to any developer who is talented and has a great idea or concept for the machine. They just need to submit the idea (or game remake) to us. [email protected] is the e-mail address to get that going. Many of you know Paul from here and his incredible Intellivisionaries podcast. Paul is our VP of Production for Vintage/Classic/Retro games.

The word "open" is not used to describe that anyone can make a game and then upload it to our servers (i.e. every other current gaming platform). We curate and partner with EVERY game and developer on the system and give them any resource they need to make the best game possible.

That's an interesting way of doing things. It kind of makes me think of how classic systems might have evolved in different circumstances.

Can I go to the electronics department at my local Sears to test out the console and to play one of the games from behind the locked glass door before I buy? ;-)

There will be an Intellivision Store display for sure. ;)

Off topic, but I wonder if anyone here has one of those store displays or parts from it. All I have are the black flip cards you see in front of the Intellivision console.

Awesome pic!! Thanks for posting.

I said Sears only because of the recent bankruptcy news. My store in Northeast Ohio that had the video game console displays was Gold Circle.

Pamida in Minnesota. Another example of a regional department store mini-franchise that went under not too long ago.

I was hoping to ask if he'd let me tour the room one day. Maybe I'll visit the shop later this weekend.

Holy crap! That must have been a pretty penny for all of those kiosks.

Now I have a stronger reason to visit my in-laws! Any idea on the name or location of this place?

No I don't, I don't think it will be open for awhile. I think they are still accumulating items.

I talked to the guys and Trade-n-Games today and they said it was guy that bought a chunk of the kiosks (including the Intellivision one). I think it went down in a Facebook group and that the guy is supposedly working on acquiring numerous items in multiple states across the US with the intention of starting a "museum", although not sure if a traditional public museum. He could just be a hoarder like the rest of us :D
