It is a good thing the game titles are very reasonably priced, as I have yet to see anything I would take a pass on buying and playing. Tommy et al are doing a great job vetting titles for the Amico so far!

I am still looking very much forward to trying out the new Astrosmash. Both in single player, and some head to head gaming with my cousin. It keeps looking better and better every time they show it off.

The interviews with all the studio staff was nice to see, and also somewhat unusual. You do not often hear from them, just see the final product. That so many developers like the Amico and the unique controller design is absolutely a good thing and gives me great expectations for a wide variety of titles being developed for the Amico to take advantage of this controller design.

Amazing to see a bit of EWJ! That is the title that I expect is going to draw a lot of attention for the system when it is finished.

My only complaint is I did not win the console :D

Honest feedback: I found the video underwhelming, and can't see any reason to have delayed it by a day.  Count down to a count down at the beginning? I think delaying the console until April of next year is a mistake as well.  The fox game looked like a p.c. flash game from the aughts. I felt like I was watching an infomercial. Now I am reading that the email for the burnt controller is bouncing back.

 

Instead of making me excited for the product, it gives me pause.

 

On the plus side, the footage I have seen of Cloudy Mountain, Night Stalker, and Astrosmash look good (this was prior to the video though).

I think the bounce back on the controller email was due to mistype on the long address seems to have gone through fine to me

Yeah, Im sure Tommy is beating himself up about the audio and that is a self inflicted wound, but it will be forgotten with time,  As for the release date push back, thats COVID, thats beyond their control, noone fault there.  As far as the graphics I have to agree with you, too many teams seem to be falling back on the flash style graphics and that is shame since 2d allows you to easily do hand drawn art.  Stylized graphics are what can set this system apart, they need to emphasize them more.  The car racing games graphics look good, skiing graphics look great, EWJ is EXACTLY what this system games should look like, Cartoons you play.  anyway just my 2 cents.

 

Im still on board but may be a little more picky about what I may be playing since if my eyes dont like it, I simply cant enjoy it.  Im very visually oriented, just ask my wife, I lived in the same area all my life and still dont know street names or anything, its all by landmark.

 

So as I said earlier , EWJ came in and saved the day so Im good.

Yeah, I agree with your comment on pc flash games and I didn't see a need to delay the presentation by a day either.

 

Also, when discussing family couch coop games, I think the bar is set at Minecraft, Mario Kart, and Mario Party. All of which, my kids like to play. However, I didn't see anything today that my kids would get excited about.

 

Any family racing game where the cars don't shoot at each other is something that my kids are going to find boring.

 

I'm still going to purchase an Amico, but I'd like to see games that look less flash-like and have a bit more features.
