Actually I like that, but without the orange discs. Maybe like a sea foam. 

It could be a St Patty's Day edition. Put a leprechaun on the front though.

 

Any unsold consoles can just be re-packaged as Earth Day editions.😎

Can also be repackaged as a special tmnt edition  just add a turtle shell design on console. Replace the crome looking parts to look like turtle shell

There is a poll on another thread about the disc of the original Intellivision. Personally, I believe the disc is a better design for 16 directions, but the d-pad is arguably a better one for 4 or 8 directions (I say arguably because I'm a joystick kind of guy and I still don't like d-pads). Since for my own sanity I don't have a Twitter nor a Facebook account, I guess I miss a lot of information. So what do we know so far about the disc of Amico's controller? Will it be 8-ways, 16-ways, or "analog"? Also, if we press in a direction, will the input be on/off or will this be also "analog"? Was something announced already?

The Amico disc, as it is now, has 64 directions.  Not sure why they didn't just make it analog, I thought analog might be cheaper and easier.

 

I'd argue the 16 or 64 direction disc is better for 4-way games because a greater portion of the directions can be programmed for the four directions compared to an 8-way dpad.  With an 8-way control you normally have a restrictor to prevent you hitting a diagonal.  With a dpad you're stuck.  A good dpad might be better for hitting diagonals in 8-way games but why limit your game to eight directions.

I think it was hinted by some anonymous Ferrari driving tycoon that it has 64 contact points.

We looked at that for a few weeks... but definitely not cheaper and a lot less exact control.  We had it up and running but it isn't as precise and cool than what we eventually went with.  And again... some really cool surprises coming that "lets just say" will make it feel and react "analog".

That's fine, an "analog" control doesn't have to be analog.  The nintendo 64 analog stick was actually digital.  Sounds like there's more to the Amico disc than 64 dirctions.

I believe I heard it had wheel/spinner function, but I think the original INTV controller had that as well, to some degree.

Tommy said he's hoping to put out the next trailer in December for the 40th anniversary of intellivision. The trailer is supposed to focus on the controller

I know, but December is so far away and it seems appropriate to do something to start off the 1 year countdown.

I like the idea of a little 1 year countdown splash too. I know doing a full trailer is a lot of work but maybe just a nice graphic with some of the milestones reached so far to confirm progress: opening up of European and NEMA offices, dozens of development teams working on games, working prototype demonstrated, live games played at E3 '19, X number of media and social media interviews done (I have lost count at this point), etc. And of course a "much more to come until our launch on 10/10/2020" message at the end. Just to re-enforce the message that this isn't a 'mystery progress' project like the VCS.

We've been thinking about it.  Too late to do a new trailer... but trying to figure out something cool.

 

We also have our big 40th anniversary on Dec. 3rd!

We've been working on the brand new website and it's looking really great!  So we could definitely launch that on 10/10 19.  It should be just about complete by then.  Also a good time to give away a new bit of info!  So we'll plan on that as well (and add it to the new website).

A website revamp launch would be great. If there was one thing 'the Punk' was right about, the website could be better. Hoping you get a merch store cranked up not too long after the re-launch. My sense of fashion basically revolves around graphic Ts and with no Amico shirts available there is a danger I will go into Winter under-dressed and with the brutal Texas winters that could be life threatening 😉

Maybe you can talk Tommy into a line of Florida winter-wear; like crop tops, sandals and Amico branded Speedos. 😄

 

BTW drove through the Keys on a vacation a few years ago and Florida is a beautiful place, can see why you put up with the heat, hurricanes and 'gators.

Yep!  We've wanted to upgrade/update the website for over a year.  Just haven't had enough content and has been so low priority compared to everything else we've been doing (especially considering we haven't started marketing at all). 

Shirts will be available on 10/10/19 on the new website!
