Yo!,

Just wanted to throw out there that the Earthworm Jim 4 video we separated and put out yesterday just surpassed the entire Special Event viewing.

Anyone want to tell me it was a bad idea to delay the Event by one day?

:D

Yep!  You started to see me do similar things back in Feb/March before COVID hit.  Now it is difficult to show multiple people in a room without offending someone.   :)

The "fluff and interviews" actually DID make a lot of people sit up and notice.  For many different reasons.  All part of the intention and certain audience of the video.  Mission Accomplished!

The highlight for me was seeing all the developers. It put a himan face to all the games showcased also proves this isnt some scheme the haters continue to rant about.

Spades for the most part is more of an adult style game (especially on mobile).  We've turned it into a more family friendly experience that everyone can enjoy.  Not just a deck of cards, but adding it characters gives it more of an overall appeal.  Some will hate it I'm sure.  But again, not every game is intended to be liked by every person on the planet.  We even have a "kid" mode we've added.

This particular game I was most excited to see. Because it helped showcase how a card game would look on a controller with its own screen.  Really glad tou guys had that in there.

No.  Not a glitch at all.  Would have been boring waiting 15 seconds (or whatever) while the game loaded in.  You see the LOADING on screen after the cut away.  One of the final things that is done in game development is optimization.  All of our loading times will get smaller and shorter as the games start to be completed.  If I would have shown 15 seconds of Skiing just loading... some folks would have complained and commented on how crappy our load times are, how disappointed they are, etc., etc.... when in reality they would have nothing at all to worry about.  It's all part of the game development process that folks wouldn't have understood.

Hope that helps to clear things up.

Thanks!

Thanks Tommy, someone else mentioned this as the potential reason too and it makes total sense.

While you're checking on messages can you comment on the status of certain Imagic games development if you know?  I'm personally wondering about Microsurgeon if it's under development and is slated for 2021?

I'm back from vacation. So it's a bit late to talk about my impressions, so I understand if no one is reading the following ! Lol

It was a good decision to talk very early about the postponement of the launch date so that we could then focus on the presentation.

I was slightly disappointed that I didn't see any ski cross gameplay.
Regarding all the other titles that we can not wait to see, it is normal that the majority has not finally been revealed (Burger time, Horse Racing, etc.)
since there are still 8 months of waiting and that Intelivision Entertainment must maintain interest during this period.

Here is what I really liked about the presentation :

The sound from Astrosmash (I was listening through headphones) was really great, and the music was epic.
Tommy, can you confirm that there will be music while we play or it will just be sound?
Hope the music used during the video will be part of the game ! :)

CornHole: The physics of the bags looks really amazing. It seems that Amico takes into account several elements inside the bag.

Also very interesting the many boards and different location choices.

Very happy with the confirmation from Mattel and Sesame Streets. Now that it's official, we can try to guess other associations ! lol

I loved the energy of the guy from Choice Provisions! I understand why I loved the majority of their games, and very happy that they are the ones who designed Break Out !

Hope they manage to make a game as good as their Runner series with the Intellivision Running Man !?

I am happy with the evolution of Missile Command. Among other things to better see our guns.

The presentation for Bomb Squad was truly amazing. I really enjoyed the humor and the concept.

Then finally, I love EarthWorm Jim's graphics. I believe the majority of people who worried about it were reassured!

So it was my favorite, but I liked a lot of other things about this beautiful presentation.

Thank you to the entire Intellivision Entertainment team and everyone working with them.

By the way Tommy, did you get the Excel file I sent you about 2 or 3 weeks ago ? (The timing was obviously wrong with all the preparations you had to plan ! Lol)

Keep it up, and Tommy, while we're all a little disappointed with the postponement of the launch,
we all understand that it's the right thing to do, and that you've even almost managed to keep that important date !

We all forgive you, and I'm sure the first to approve this new date is your sister ... Rest in peace.

Martin Le Pionnier (and those who think like me).

I felt the same, also with Moon Patrol. Something that stopped me from playing the demo more frequently than I would have.

I had the same experience with moon patrol. I get confused with all of the rocks everywhere . When should I jump ? It will be different with the Amico controller I’m sure . I hope !  Lol

I last played the Moon Patrol demo a week ago today.  I played it about a dozen times that day but it's difficult when playing on a phone.  Also, I'm yet to beat the full level.  Lol.  The Amico controller will make all the difference.  Having never used an Intellivision controller before, it will be a learning curve for me.  But I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.  That touchscreen will really help as well.

So your name is Intellivision Master, but you've never used an Intellivision controller before?  😆  Just having some fun with ya.  I'm guessing you've played on emulation then?

Not sure if it will help but a huge improvement for me was to really use the speed up and slow down feature (in fact I switched to tilt mode just to get easier control of that). I was going pedal to the metal before and was making little progress. Slowing down in order to get firepower on the rocks you want to blast and doing a slow then fast to fake out the flying saucer really upped my kills on both and helps me time jumps too.

Haha.  No, I never did emulation for Intellivision.  I only changed my name to Intellivision Master because Tommy asked me to.  I figured why not right?  Remember I used to be Atari Master.  I still serve the Atarian empire, lol.

Ahh yes!!  Thanks for the reminder.  That was a big sacrifice you made to the Intellivision empire though, lol.  Well done sir!  🙂

I was hoping to play Amico before i catch Covid and die.....

Tommy,

I got my Thunder Castle T-Shirt 3 days ago.  I like it, haven't worn it yet but will soon.

I have one in my store shopping cart.

Before I make the purchase, does it look even better in person than it does on the website?

You can make my final decision for me,no pressure !😄

To be honest, it looks the same in person.  Not that it's a bad thing.  I think the picture of the shirt really shows the detail.  You know how sometimes when you see something online, it doesn't always look the same or as good in person.  But with this item you can't go wrong.  Don't forget Tommy himself did the design.  Also, notice the Running Man icon on the castle.  I thought that was pretty cool.

Still months to go on this.  Tilting the camera angle a little more so it's not just a full top down view.  Just putting a very slight angle on it (will still play like a top-down type of game).

I’m liking where this game is headed. I know this has a lot of work to go still. I’d like to see ground damage and debris from exploding tanks.

I like the game more than I thought, I’m starting to warm up to the controls, but I got stuck for a very long time on the place where you have three land mines and a “pointy” rock in the middle, today I finally made it past it for the first time, yeaaah!😅 I have no idea how much there is after that place to beat the level, anyone, am I close?

You have to check the checkpoint letter you reached. When you finish Z you are done.

It would be cool to have a bonus stage or something in the full version of Moon Patrol where you enter an alien base.  While in the base you're on foot shooting aliens either in a top down view or as side scrolling.

Immediately made me think of the classic NES game Blaster Master. You really got your money's worth with this game. Tons of levels, great graphics and a a difficulty that would keep you engaged.

I am feeling your pain on this, I was expecting a delay but was still hoping for a release around Christmas.

With the PS5 reportedly having some major design problems, the Xbox Series X still being rather vague on when they are releasing, and of course Corona throwing a wrench into all manufacturing, it did look promising that Amico would have had the Christmas holiday release season to itself for new consoles.

Ah well. It is much better to hear a honest evaluation of when it will be released then a best case hopeful projection, which might have them been again delayed *cough* *cough* Atari Box *cough* cough*.

In the wise words of Mick Jagger, 'You can't always get what you want'. Like others have said, the delay does give developers a lot more time to work on their games for the system, which in turn I hope means more games being available at release. Which certainly will not be a bad thing! ... except for maybe to my wallet :D
