I just made my first Jamma Switch out.

Recommended Posts

I have a Taito Superman arcade cabinet (I've had it a long time) and game and I just reciently learned what Jamma meant, and got my first new board to try in my Cabinet..

It was The Main Event wrestling, and it just worked, I'm pretty happy at this point. I just tried it out at lunch so I didn't have alot of time to mess with it.

I noticed one of the buttons for my players don't really do anything, after looking at the wireing diagram on the net, it seems to be a TAG button, has anyone played this game and know if the TAG button does anything else other than TAG, that may be why it seems dead..

I don't go home for another 3 hours and I was just curious if my Jamma harness was missing a button or something.

The Maine Event uses only two buttons - an "action" button, which, in combination with the joystick does everything from attacking to kicking out to dodgind; and the Tag button, which is used when you're in position to tag your partner in. You need to be in range of your partner to tag him in and you can't tag again until you've hit your opponent at least once. There's no in-game cue that you're out of range, so keep trying.

There is another Jamma standard, JAMMA+, but AFAIK that only applies to games with >3 buttons or >2 simultaneous players.

This seems to be all good. The tag button only tags, nothing else, so it's all good..

The main event is a neat game by the way.
