DavidMil
I found this note on the back page of the instruction manual for the SSI game, 'Broadsides'. Can someone explain what it means? Thanks, DavidMil
+Nezgar
The mockingboard is a sound card for the Apple II. This page seems to suggest there were quite a few versions: http://wiki.apple2.org/index.php?title=Mockingboard From a soundbyte I heard, it sounded a lot like the ST's YM2149.
Gunstar
More than likely it is referring to the Apple II version of the game, I think it had a board called the Mockingboard. The 800's slots are 0-3, none designated 4 unless it's the hidden CPU board. I have the real manual, I'll take a look. But if I recall this was a flippy-disk release with some having Apple II and Atari and some having C64 and Atari. I'll see what mine is, just a moment...Yeah, it's for the Apple II, I think it's a sound board. My player manual says for "all versions" and the back shows commands for Apple II/+ Apple IIe, Atari and C64.
towmater
Seems self evident. The software addresses a Mockingbird in slot 4, and if something else is in that slot it does not execute as expected?
DavidMil
I never had much to do with Apples, except sell a lot of floppy disks at some of their user group meetings. I was kind of hoping that they were talking about a 1090 (four slots and Z-80 compatibility). I know that is rather far fetched, but... Messed with a Trash 80 a bit and also a very advanced but not supported TI 99-4A, just not Apples. Thanks for the feed back! Kyle22
I would love to have a Z80 (or Z380) slotted in my 800! That would be an awesome thing. Ideas, anyone?
