+Andrew Davie
For those who are lucky enough to own a copy of '2600 Boulder Dash, did you know there's an easter egg in the game? There's a whole new level, designed by Thomas, waiting to be discovered. Nobody seems to have found it yet. Time to dig out your carts.
+Andrew Davie
I should have been clearer; a new intermission, not level. It's been a while.
Fr0st
Hopefully I have a house to live in soon and can pull all my stuff out of storage and actually play this

killersquirel
How to find this easter egg? Is it just completing the game or is there something that the player needs to do to trigger it?
Thomas Jentzsch
The latter. Edited March 9, 2019 by Thomas Jentzsch
+McCallister
Glad this can be found! For awhile, I thought it could be impossible
Thomas Jentzsch
Not impossible, but very hard to find. But now that you got a hint, it should be a little bit easier.
+groundtrooper
Well, since I was lucky enough to pick up this game from another member here last year I need to carve out some time to play it.
+Andrew Davie
Glad this can be found! For awhile, I thought it could be impossible Well, not impossible. But the chances of anyone accidentally stumbling on it are 0.000009
Thomas Jentzsch
Well, not impossible. But the chances of anyone accidentally stumbling on it are 0.000009 Hm.... 0.0001 by my math.
Nukey Shay
Which is the way it should be. I gave up playing Yars' Revenge BITD because of its game-killer.
+Andrew Davie
Hm.... 0.0001 by my math. NOT "0", check the code
Thomas Jentzsch
OK, 0.00009 then.
CaptainBreakout
There's a lot of winking going on here, but has anyone done it?
dark-aleph
The exact odds of an accidental reveal would be an excellent clue, but you've given us three different probabilities here! Is it 1 in 10 000, 9 in 100 000, or 9 in a million? (and please don't answer "yes" ) . . . If it's 9 in a million, then the game would need to be played 77017 times before there was a 50% chance of finding the easter egg. So if the other 249 of you play it 309.3 times each, I'll fire it up for one more game and reveal the easter egg Edited March 12, 2019 by dark-aleph
Nukey Shay
Only 9 possible scores out of the total that can be displayed?
+Andrew Davie
Only 9 possible scores out of the total that can be displayed? Thomas and I have discussed and reviewed the odds, and my original figure is the correct one. So, that sounds like a reasonable inference, Nukey
Goochman
Maybe that .000009 relates to something 90000?

Thomas Jentzsch
OK: You have to be quite good at the game.

I should, however this game kicks my arse! <Edit> This is one of my favorite games. It took me several years to acquire a copy. It’s quite the challenge and technical accomplishment. 2
