Scooby Doo's maze chase on JZIntv

Recommended Posts

I am trying to play Scooby Doo's maze chase with JzIntv. I flagged ECS. I can not start the game, it stops on the title screen. Any hint to proceed? Forgot something?

You need to start the game with the keyboard. You then need to select the maze number and the number of players, again with the keyboard.

I'm sure jzintv has an option to use your computer keyboard as the ECS keyboard?

Thanks, ECS option already flagged. Something else?

I'm not really experienced with jzintv but does ECS option flagged mean you can use your keyboard as the ECS keyboard?

Good question, I am not an expert on the matter too. But we do have experts that can help here in AA!👍

Try this, with the scooby title screen up, press F7 on your keyboard. That should enable the ECS keyboard. Then press 1 on your keyboard. That should hopefully take you to the maze selection screen. You then need to select the maze number and enter then the number of players then enter.

It works, thanks.

Question: pressing F7 which is then the map of controlling keys? Jzintv instructions mention a map 2. I do not know how ECS keyboard works...

You're welcome. Not sure what the different maps do, it could be to have the ecs keyboard and standard keyboard controls active at the same time, but that's a complete guess.

If you are using the keyboard on your computer to control Scooby, you probably need to switch back off of the ecs keyboard once you have selected which Maze and how many players you want.

http://spatula-city.org/~im14u2c/intv/jzintv-1.0-beta3/doc/jzintv/jzintv.txt

Map0 (f5) maps the left intellivision controller to the main keyboard.

Map1 (f6) maps the right intellivision controller to the main keyboard.

Map2 (f7) maps the ecs computer keyboard to the main keyboard.

Those are default mappings which can all be re-defined with a mapping file.

Perfect. I switched back using F6 and that's fine. Thanks again!
