Shift838
I'm going to be making some mouse adapters that will take a standard 9 pin bus mouse (mini din) and convert it to a 9 pin dsub for the Geneve Mouse. It will also allow you to select Right or Left handed with a dipswitch. Attached is a PCB preview. Who's interested ?
ti99iuc
I have the original Mouse for Geneve, but it is interesting anyway it's neat!
+9640News
I'm interested. I just bought a package of three bus mice off of ebay. The one I had the pinouts for wee for the Logitech Model No. PC-93-9MD. Would definitely prefer a connector versus rewiring something up. +Ksarul
Note that the 9-pin bus mice with the "D" connector should work without modification, but I also like the idea of making the adapter to modify the MiniDIN type to the "D" type, so count me in for 3-4 of these. RickyDean
Yes I have an original mouse for one of my Genny's but I will need two more to go with the others. So I'll need two.

Shift838
i may replace the DB9 pcb connector with a header for a DB9 ribbon cable. I believe this would make the connector more stable on the Geneve. thoughts? Edited March 24, 2019 by Shift838

+9640News
As long as I do not have to build a cable to connect things together...……..
+arcadeshopper
i can get 1ft db9 m-f cables .. i use them for the joystick adapters to move them off the side Greg
RickyDean
I used to buy db9 connectors to crimp on ribbon cable, to make extensions, not hard for sure if the connectors are still available.
Shift838
My plan is for no one to have to make cables. The unit will come with what is required to connect a bus mouse (9 pin mini din) to the Geneve.
+InsaneMultitasker
I'm not sure there is merit to doing this but what if you added a second DB9 connector to break out the joystick ports and the mouse port. If you wanted plug the adapter directly into the Geneve, that might give enough stability to make it worthwhile as another option.

I even thought we could make breakout the 2 joysticks into Atari connections, but I don't there there would be enough space to do that. +9640News
Me personally, and my setup, I would probably prefer just to see foot long cables coming off the Geneve to an adapter board versus securing the board to the end of the Geneve. I think this will more likely keep the Geneve stable in the PEBox as I can secure the adapter board to the side of the PEBox facing out front. Assuming the board is not secured to the Geneve, please plan on having a box either included or recommended that would secure things. I hate having any boards with open circuits where something could come in contact with them such as cats, etc. Beery

Definitely a good point if your Geneve is not in a case or not in a PEB with the cover installed - Myarc cards tend to rock in the connector. The cable solution also may work better for those who have placed a PEB cage into a PC tower.

I think the best solution is to have it with a cable coming from the geneve to the board. I plan on designing the board to fit in a standard hammond project box (model to be determined).

Shift838
Been busy at work but have the concept down on a hand wired board. Need to find a few more mouse programs for the genevve to test. Im hoping to have a test order of boards sent within the next few days.
+InsaneMultitasker
CYA has a simple mouse test that lets you depress all three buttons and move things around. I might still have the standalone code/program modules if that will help you with some quick tests. (I wrote test modules for quick checks for hardware repair at cecure - forgot about them til now)
Shift838
I ran into a an issue. It seems that the bus mouse I have one of the axis is screwed up. although it is hooked up it will not move. my vertical axis works fine, but the horizontal is dead on the mouse. I need to find a new mouse or work on a different solution for a more readily available mouse like PS/2 or USB.
