Donald Duck, the weekly comics magazine over here ran a commercial a few years ago about some dad trying to come up with lame stories to tell his children, and the catch line was "Our stories are better than yours".

Yeah because video games are for umwashed geeks who will turn violent after playing that Mortal Battle game.

 

Turns out she blames the divorce on the kid's dad playing Xbox all day, as the man was merely trying to unwind in the weekend after a 60-hour work week. He was exhausted trying to support the lifestyle the stay-at-home mom had become accostumed to, after she refused to get a job to share the load.

 

Famicom guy didn't know it, but he got lucky to avoid a similar fate.

Ah yes, the wonderful world of ridiculous ways to show videogames on TV. I'm used to handhelds with no games in them, but apparently the advent of clone systems has opened us up to a new level of silliness.

 

And as always, there's no cord coming out of the back of that thing. I didn't know retrons could stream wirelessly. Take that, Stadia!

I want the commercial to have a bit of a darker backgrund, like her husband left the family and all they got from him is this old, dusted video game. Being a single mom with allergy, or if it is the child who is vulnerable, is tough so sometimes they need to bond and have fun. I can even consider taking it one notch further so the dad died in one way of another, making her a widow with a small child and a big dog.

 

Edit: Ok, so she's wearing a wedding ring which probably disproves my theory, unless of course she is still grieving and has been unable to get on with her life.

And maybe it doesn't need to be said, as everybody is different, but I actually have allergies...And Claritin doesn't do jack! I know, I've tried it twice (2 boxes worth). I could eat the whole box like it was Pez and it would have no impact one way or the other.

Reminds me, the Cosentyx (joint pain) pill commercial running since I think last year(late) now has a long game of Pin-Bot being enjoyed with not something faked but a clean real cabinet of it.

The title of the game is "Legend of Sapphire (not a real game)." Dark insights about the game's backstory? From the label, it looks to be either a cheap bootleg or an ultra-rare game made by a small independent group, like Birthday Mania or Red Sea Crossing.

I use the generic Claritin, Loratadine, at Sams club... 400 tablets for $12. That is what Claritin should cost! Anyway they work great wow do I ever notice it if I miss two days!!

 

Claritin does nothing for my dad he gets the but shots that work for him. He used to Claritin for years.
