youxia Posted April 10, 2019 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Seems like another good cop/bad cop round for me. I played Cadash before briefly on some home console and was rather unimpressed...I know it is a (very) early proto RPG-platformer, but even so... In any case, how do we measure a score? Is there any point-scoring in the game? I played it couple of times yesterday but couldn't see anything. I love Dark Seal though, never saw it before but it's a great arcade-action-RPG of sorts. Cynicaster Posted April 10, 2019 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Yeah, I was also wondering how we measure scores in Cadash. Honestly, coin-op seems like a very strange platform for a game like that. You've got this timer ticking down while you're forced to read through a bunch of nonsense dialogue with NPCs, etc. Seems much better suited to sitting on a couch at home with a home console. Dark Seal is OK but I was finding it a bit clunky with how your character "aims" the direction of attack. youxia Posted April 11, 2019 Share Posted April 11, 2019 Actually I saw later that there are in-game scoreborads, though still it's a possible headache - they rank by EXP, GOLD, LVL... Also each character may progress differently. And yeah, it takes forever to play, even if you skip the NPC chat...especially after the first boss, you need to do zillion RPG-y things in town. However, the game didn't give me a chance to capture it and it doesn't appear to have any kind of leader board. I'll leave the final score to Leto's discretion. Not sure if this is the right space for suggestions for next season's games, but since Leto mentioned it here I have a few: Venture, Space Zap, Berzerk or Frenzy, Scrambler or Super Cobra, Vanguard. youxia Posted April 16, 2019 Share Posted April 16, 2019 (edited) Dark Seal - 174,000 Cadash - ? ok, I saw it saved the Hiscore table after all: xp 561 / gold 792 / lvl 5 I played Cadash few times, even managed to get past that second boss but then was unable to see my score. The game insisted that I continue playing with my extra credit, maybe I've pressed something too fast. Guess I have to slog through it again... Dark Seal is lot of fun and chas some clever touches too, such as that ice slope later on. Also the Wizard's fire spell is porbably the best I've ever seen, even in countless "normal" RPGs.
