Mouse driven Adventure game, I cant remember the name of...

Recommended Posts

There is this mouse driven adventure game that came out in the early 90s that I wish i knew the name off.

What i can remember, its was like the Scumm adventures (Monkey Island. Simon the Sorceror, etc)

More like Loom style game. but it had no verbs on the bottom of the screen as you click within the adventure screen instead. (walk-around adventure of course)

As far as I can remember this adventure was released for the Amiga and PC You started out in or nearby in this huge treehouse in the wildness.

I remember a bridge in this adventure too with someone working nearby it that you had to cross. :?

Does anyone know what adventure game im talking about that was released for the Amiga/PC ?

What kind of theme did it have? Can you describe your character at all, or what it was you were doing?

Could it be one of the King's Quest games?

Could it be one of the games in the "The Legend of Kyrandia" trilogy by Westwood Studios? The three parts were: "Book one: Fables & Fiends", "Book two: The Hand of Fate" and "Book three: Malcolm's Revenge". The controls fit your descrition, and I think the second game had the locations that you describe.

Yeah Legend of Kyrandia or maybe King's Quest? I do recall a bridge that you had to pass in King's Quests. But then again, it's a fairly common task in games :ponder:

I was thinking King's Quest 3, there was a tree house in it, but you didn't start there, so I didn't mention it. I think there was a bridge in it, maybe not though.

I've never played Legend of Kyrandia, is it pretty addictive?

I still have "Hand of Fate" on floppy disk (It's about 13 disks or something, sheesh). It was a pretty fun game, but I thought the puzzles were awfully hard. I beat the game, but not without using a walkthrough. Too many of the puzzles relied on actions that had unpredictable events. But it must have been pretty decent if I actually bothered to finish the game... usually if the game sucks, I just give up and delete it.

Legend of Kryrandia is a huge epic of an adventure and I knew on the Amiga is spanned about 13 disks!

Even though I used a walkthur (evil me  ), it was silly changelling and exciting enough, and I dont think I quite actually finished it.

I thought the amtosphere was fantastic. Althought it probably got a few of the puzzle ideas from Kings Quest.

I gonna go back to Legend of Kryrandia - Hate of Fate tonight, I cant wait!

I remember completing Monkey Island 2 with a walkthur. Thats was another Epic of an adventure, used a walkthur, It was so funny and clever, I ended up in completing that game 3 times !

Actually it was Legend of Kyrandia - book 1 I was after, not Hand of Fate.

Im playing one were his grandfather gets turned into stone and you must defeat Malcom to save him or something.

Anyway, Im using the Amiga version (In an emulator), and I when to SAVE game. Its saved to disk 9. :?

Althought I re-test it and it worked.

But question is, is that right, or are you suppose to use a blank disk image stead?

:ponder:
