WTB (or trade): Worship the Woodgrain CD set

Recommended Posts

I finally got around to hooking up my Supercharger this week and trying out my Stella Gets a New Brain Cd. It is so fun and easy to use. I checked old topics and I can't figure out if the Worship the Woodgrain Cd set is still sold. I know the Cuttle Cart Underground CD set is not and that the Stella Gets a New Brain is still available from Randy at Hozer. I suspect the Worship the Woodgrain set is not available because I have e-mailed the website (two weeks ago and this morning) and I get no response. Thus -- is this set for sale anywhere? Does anyone have one they want to sell or trade? If none are available, would anyone that has one be willing to burn me the four CDs and make a copy of the game list? I will pay (via Paypal or other method) or trade. PM me with how much this would cost or if you want to look at my trade list and I'll send it to you. I have good feedback at Ebay and I am on the good trader list here.

Thank you! -- RG

Here's a message posted by slapdash on this very subject not more than 3 days ago:

I can't believe how often this comes up... Don't believe the CD is out of print, as there are plenty left. And for $5 shipped, it's cheaper than the time it would take to rip or download the games and print out instructions.

And before you ask: No, he doesn't have an e-mail address and , no, he no longer has a website. You'll have to do it the old-fashioned way of writing a letter and waiting for a response. Good luck.

I think I've seen that....it's only 5 bucks, but to send money to someone who specificially doesn't give out his email address (c'mon...my grandmother has an email address!) and has a po box as a mailing address......just seems fishy. anyone know this guy and/or has sent money for the product and received it????

Not to insult ya, but you must be new not to heard of Randy and Hozer Video. He was making Atari carts and homebrews for years and years when some "bad things" happened. He withdrew all of his websites and only accepts e-mail from people he personally knows. You can trust him on this and I'm sure there will be others who can vouch for him. If not, well, good luck finding one elsewhere.

And, as far as his trustworthiness, this was posted here on AA just yesterday:

Got my "Stella Gets A New Brain!" cd in the mail today!!! This is now by far the coolest piece of my atari collection. If you don't have one already, GET ONE! you won't be disappointed. Complete with instructions and extras on the cd. I got a supercharger with phaser patrol a couple of weeks ago and have been waiting for the cd. WELL worth the wait!!! (can you tell I'm excited?) Anyone wanna come over and play 4 players on Party Mix???
So someone just ordered one and got it with no problems....

And don't ask what happened to cause Randy to withdraw off the Internet. The story's here on AA if you punch in "Hozer" on the search feature. It's a sore subject with a lot of folks and does not ned to be brought up again. Thanks!

Wasn't chewin' on anything CPU. Just letting him know that the CD's out there, Randy can be trusted, and the story as to why things are this way doesn't need to be rehashed.;)

By the way, this was posted yesterday in Atari 2600 forum:

So, I wouldn't worry about anything shady. ;)

I just wanted to bump this to see if anyone found an answer for my original question although I assume WTW is no longer available. Again - anyone willing to burn CDs for me and copy the game list or sell/trade their set? I honestly have a decent trade list I'll e-mail you (I even added boxed complete near mint 2600 Sentinel and 5200 Zaxxon cart this weekend to it) or we can talk cash.

Take care,

RG

what is this cd? im obviously new and have no idea whats going on =P

Don't feel bad....I've been on this board over a year and I still have no idea what's going on about a lot of stuff. :dunce:

The Stella Gets a New Brain CD is a cd that contains all the game files of all the Starpath Supercharger games including unfinished/prototype games. You have to have a supercharger though, which I have (but no games for it) I plan on sending in my $5 bucks, since I was told by a few reliable ppl here it is on the up and up. The other cd and cuttle cart mentioned in this thread I don't know much about. You can probably do a search tho and find info on it/them.

I figure the less neat and interesting Atari stuff I know about the better, as in less money I'll want to spend. |:)

I'll vouch for it. I sent it right before he closed his web site and received it. It did take a while for the transaction, so just be patient. After all, it's only $5 total and it is a must own if you have a Supercharger.

Enjoy.

The Cuttle Cart is an enhanced Supercharger that plays almost all the games, but it's no longer available.

The Cuttle Cart Underground was basically an enhanced version of worship the woodgrain that included all the games that could be played on the Cuttle Cart. (Which includes all the games on the original WTW.)
