SoundGammon
A reviewer once said that Megamania for the 5200 / 8-bit didn't have the same "feel" as the 2600 version. I agree with him. It seems the players ship moves a little slower than the 2600 version. Can it be fixed?
edladdin
The problem here is that the game has been programmed to treat analog input as a binary control. The lag is the gap they built into the game so your stick has to move a certain distance to trigger a left or right. Like, if the X-axis is at its midpoint at 250k on that pot, you dont want left to trigger at 249k and right at 251k. So they built some slop and told the game to ignore a big middle area. As with Gyruss, it was a huge missed opportunity to have the controls in true analog AND Trak-Ball compatible. Its my favorite thing about 5200 Space Invaders and Galaxian. So my wish would be for Megamania and Gyruss hacked into TB versions.
SoundGammon
What I'm asking for is to move the ship a little faster when it does move, not when the controller triggers it to move. Galaxian ship has 2 speeds on the 5200, slow and fast, and only fast on the 8-bit.
