Hi, I wanted to present to you my version of the Lynx cartridge. The name and graphics on the sticker refer to my daughter Agata.

Technical details

- support for SD and SDHC cards to 32GB in the micro standard,
- FAT16 and FAT32 files system support,
- software upgrade from the SD card level (bootloader),
- the ability to enable/disable verification of writing to the SRAM memory,
- operation using two buttons,

- support for up to 199 files (software restriction),

- game numbers, error codes and other information displayed on the display at the back of the cartridge,

- automatic memorising of the last used file number,
- 9 memory cells to memorising the most used or favorite games, the so-called speed dial,
- two modes of operation possible:

1. after starting the console, the last used game file is automatically read from the SD card and saved in SRAM,
2. after starting the console, cartridge waits for you to dial the number of the game and then it’s read from the SD card and saved in SRAM,

- .LYX file support in size 256kB and 512kB (128kB after convertion to 256kB),
- after loading the game the SD card is disconnected, to save energy,

- every time you start the console cartridge counts the number of files in the root directory of the SD card and it does not allow you to choose the bigger number than the actual number of files,

- the cartridge cover is a three-colored print from the 3D printer

I have more information in the instructions.

@Jurgen I added you to the list before :)

Warning!
Poland has suspended shipments from China, there will be no PCBs or some elements :(
I have material to produce a dozen or so pieces, I don't know how many will remain after completing orders from the current list because not all people respond to messages. So I assume that after a week without a response, the cartridge goes to the next person.
When stocks last, the waiting time will be unknown :(

Received my Agarcart last week, and wow! Great looking bit of kit. I have 2 lynx 1’s and while it worked fine on my unmodified lynx I struggled to get it to work with my mcwilled one. Almost gave up thinking it was to do with the recomm 5v mod, but after a bit of jiggling about there was a flash of insert game, so I kept trying. My mcwilled lynx has a slightly looser feeling cartridge slot to my unmodified lynx but I’m not sure if that’s the problem. I found I had to insert the cart fully then pull it out slightly on the right hand side. Once fitted it works perfectly and I’ve struggled to put it down over the past couple of days! I do find when I leave it for a couple of hours it looses it’s position in the cartridge slot and I have to jiggle it about again. I’m hoping that over time the cartridge bay will adapt to the Agarcart and I won’t have to keep adjusting it. I ideally want to leave it in place as a permanent fixture as I worry about the adjusting damaging the pins on the bay and cart. Thanks Rafal! This combined with the Mcwill screen has turned my lynx into a dream machine?

After some more fiddling around getting my Mcwilled lynx to power up last night, I’m starting to think this is a power supply issue caused by the recom 5v mod. I’m very new to all this so someone please correct me if I’m talking nonsense! I believe the recom dc-dc mod never shuts down, so is it possible the AgaCart is drawing power before the lynx is powered up, not leaving enough juice to start the lynx when the power button is pressed? I know gamecomposer was having a similar issue back on page 4 or 5 of this thread. The reason I believe this might be the case is that the only way i can get the lynx to power on is by inserting the cart at the exact time I press the power button. Previously I thought this was an issue with the fitment of the cart. Once I’ve powered up I can then switch the lynx on and off again with no problems  but, if I leave it for a couple of hours or more I need to repeat  the process. Any thoughts or suggestions on this would be appreciated. I am thinking of reverting back to the original Zener diode but as I purchased the lynx ready modded I’m not really sure what that  entails.

@Ben M

Do you have a description of this 5V conversion? Does the 5V voltage disappear after turning off the power on pin 33 of the cartridge? Was the power_on signal on pin 31 of the cartridge modified?

While I've not done the mod myself, It basically consists of removing the original power components and putting in a DC-DC regulator instead. Kinda like installing a 7805 instead of the zener but without all the heat. Again I've never done it myself but I think that is basic bit of it.

I will investigate further over the weekend but I believe crossbow is correct on how the mod is done. I purchased my lynx ready modded on eBay and was told it was was done by Mcwill himself, it has the lcd screen, vga out and 5v mod. The workmanship is spot on and I’m very happy with it, just this one issue. Would really like to get it resolved as I don’t want to damage my lynx or the fantastic Agacart by continually removing and reinserting the cart. Thanks guys.

I’m interested in one card. :)

Edit;

just read the troubles with the mcwill screen, I have one modded lynx as well and can someone confirm if it’s a problem with those screens and this card? Thanks.
