TI998owner
Hi Group, , Been a very long time since I replaced a set of memory chips On the TI99/4a main board. My question is , found a person that Has some replacement TMS4116-25 memory chips. What I was looking for Was the Original TMS4116-15 , that are in the 99/4a . , Does anyone know if these slower Memorys will work as replacements and any effects or problems they might cause ? , Also does anyone know of a good source for the faster TMS4116-15 Memory ? Or possible does anyone have a bunch they would be willing to Sell plus shipping. , His Basic price per chip he has is .85 CENTS to $1 per chip plus Shipping. If someone has them at or near this price , please PM Me. Thanks for any info in advance TI998owner on atariage Lee
Stuart
According to Appendix B of the VDP data manual, 4116-15 and 4116-20 RAMs should be OK, but 4116-25 RAMs will not work under worst case conditions.
+Lee Stewart
Unicorn Electronics has them for $1.19 and the faster 120ns for $1.99. They have free shipping, but their order minimum is $30. ...lee
+arcadeshopper
I'd use 4164's modified so they work as 16's.. that way you have - less heat - lower voltage - higher reliability I have them in stock at arcadeshopper.com
