For the classic games, I enjoyed One on One and the Ultima series. I also enjoyed below the root, alice in wonderland and Lode Runner.

For the homebrews, the game for me that stands above many is Planet Golf by Antonio Savona. It's so much fun..

I agree with all of these (although I've never played Planet Golf). I also enjoyed Jumpman, Oil's Well, Phantasie, GameStar Baseball and all the Zork (and other infocom) games.

Joe, Grog's Revenge, Gyruss, H.E.R.O., Mr. Do's Castle, Pitfall II - Lost Caverns, Pitstop II, Rambo - First Blood Part II, Rollin, Satans Hollow, Space Taxi, Super Pipeline, Wizard of Wor, Zorro.

My more extensive list is contained in the file attachment and spoiler below.

Game titles listed more than once can mean different versions of the game or alternate presentations (I.E. one-sided instead of flipping the disk over, Euro and US, or a particular fondness for a specific game crack(ing group (release))).

How many threads like this one have we had in the past year? 4, 5, 6? Perhaps if there would be a nice moderator who could pin 1 thread, all the suggestions could go into the same thread instead of repeating the same question over and over.

Second. I know I put up a list which took a lot of thought in a thread some time ago.

Thanks for your help, everyone. Some of those I've played before and some I haven't. Wizball is a great game and totally addictive! In the future I'll check in past threads to make sure this wasn't covered somewhere else. God knows I don't want to hurt someone's feelings.

  • 3 weeks later...

I never owned a C64 back in the day. I have two now donated by friends but the units are not in working order. Not even sure where to start troubleshooting. So I decided to get an Ultimate64 elite on pre-order. Enough of that (Getting back on topic). 2 games I recall playing at friends houses were The Goonies and The Castles of Dr. Creep if you're into to those kinds of puzzle solving adventure type platformers. On that note, The Castles of Dr Creep is now available on STEAM. And yes, still very difficult but playing it at least weekly to see if I can finally complete the game.
