derFunkenstein #26 Posted May 20, 2019 As a kid, I never got a platform until it was basically out of vogue, so I never had to deal with loaning out games. I got my Atari 2600 post-crash in 1984 for Christmas, and my NES in 1990 as a birthday present when the Genesis was the new hotness. So nobody ever wanted to borrow my games. OTOH, I bought a big pile of NES games for five to eight bucks a pop when I was in high school and a couple kids in particular just wanted to be rid of them. I initially built my Genesis collection when Blockbuster was making room for the Saturn and PSX. Those Blockbuster carts had rental stickers, but it never bothered me.
lushgirl_80 #27 Posted May 21, 2019 Heck no,I never wrote on any of my carts ever or anything game related for that matter. Funny a high school acquaintance once gifted me with a bunch of his old NES carts, and they got his name on em lol. Black sharpie marker. Never understood why anyone would do that but to each their own. Not only videogame cartridges, but I find alot of name writing on 8-track tapes that I collect, and alot of the vinyl that I collect. Annoying really, but sometimes I search the names on FB to see if their still alive which is funny.
Punisher5.0 #28 Posted May 21, 2019 Hells to the no.......but I think its neat to come across one now a days. It gives the game some history. I have a SFA2 that someone dremeled or used a soldering iron to put a name and address on the back side. Pretty extreme if you ask me but I like it in my collection.

tpugmire #30 Posted May 22, 2019 In the beginning, my mom used to write our last name and phone number on my NES games. She stopped doing it after a while, so only my early games have it on there. I cant really fault her, I mean she bought them, so she had the right to do whatever she wanted I suppose.
