Not impossible but a very nice arrangement.

Yeah, objectively these sounds are possible, since they're right there, I meant through conventional means, not something possible, especially not without any filters. ;)

Having added support to use the Two-Tone Filter in RMT has to be one of the few things that may turn into incredible stuff once we come with a better hang of it.

That said, I am aware the way I did add the feature is... something that needs a better execution in the first place.

At least, the proof of concept is there, and it is still fully usable, just a bit awkward to set up. :D

Something that gets even greater with it is when the High Pass Filter is layered on top of it, that modulates into really interesting sounds.

Of course.

The problem always was to get a row of notes for melodic correctness, which you managed nicely by patching RMT.

I wished I had the time to do that, back then.

I'm trying to make an audio cue in RMT, and I would like to know how to change the waveforms?

Instrument Screen -> Distortion?

For example, Distortion A is square wave, the other ones are either noises or bass tones.

Just messing around a little with modulation in a sketch tune.

Testing my improved Patch16 driver with some impossible sounds using the high pass filter modulation.

Patch16 driver so far: tracker.obx

Simply drop it in the latest RMT 1.31 release 'RMT Binaries' folder, still not all touched up but the improvements really made the timing much tighter, the Filter modulation really becomes under control with my "Get AUDCTL Early" cheat code (lol).

Here's my .rmt if anyone wants to play with it, or maybe add more to it if you feel like it :D sketch 66 v3.rmt

Just for fun here's an oscilloscope visualisation of the modulation of this test tune, using the still in the work improve patch16-2 hack:

Progress for that one is getting very well, I found new improvements, and added brand new 16-bit tables, but I'll save this for another day since it's still incomplete right now :D

Here's a binary I built specifically using the ASM code I am editing, but soon I'll add the full changes to the RMT export formats in a future update for it.

sketch 66 p16-2.obx

The timing is so good this should sound identical on hardware, and even in PAL mode the pulses timing is very constant, this makes me really happy.

ah the point is this how pokey sounds, it's quite capable and it's nice to see it being used in this way.

That's precisely what motivates me going further... there's so much that could be done but it's almost never explored, so experimenting and trying to find out is a lot of fun!

In the mean time, Triangle

You can guess what this is supposed to mean until later tonight :D
