POKEY question

So I just got my 7800 and small library out to play. I was looking in the store for games that I might want to get. I have a question. Do the games that say "You supply the POKEY" need a POKEY? Or will they not play on a 7800 without one?

Generally the game will play with no sound. Some have been programmed to detect if there is a pokey and if it is not detected it will fall back to TIA sound. Beef Drop and Froggie are two that come to mind that use that method.

The only two games we sell at the moment that require a POKEY are Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest and Super Circus AtariAge. They will play without a POKEY, but there would be no sound.
