rodcastler_two #1 Posted June 4, 2019 Someone brought this to my attention. It seems to be a plate that belonged to an Atari 2700 remote joystick, on a 600XL machine. I wonder if this was a common practice at some point... first time I see one of these.
+AtariNerd #2 Posted June 4, 2019 Interesting how modern perspectives give a new interpretation to older things. Looks like something someone in the community might create today to badge a Internet-Capable Atari computer. Or a brand for an Atari computer without a need for a specific brand. I say we co-opt it for something new.
+Philsan #3 Posted June 5, 2019 Someone that loves Atari logo on XL machines. I miss an Atari logo and Atari key (like 800) too.
rodcastler_two #4 Posted June 6, 2019 Well, that was my first thought: just someone who glued that plate there, but then I realized that 2700 was a prototype model, so it doesn't make a lot of sense for someone to do that. Could it be that Atari found an alternative use for those plates and save some extra cents by repurposing them for the 8 bits?
Sugarland #5 Posted June 6, 2019 Those badges can still be had today from old stock.
