CaptainBreakout
Hiya All, Happily my son and daughter are old enough now to "get" Wreck-It Ralph... so we've been watching the movie in segments. I'd really like to get a cartridge copy we can all play. I looked into this a few years ago, and noticed there were at least two Genesis ports/demakes that were floating around in ROM versions, and a few vendors offering it in cart form. I did a brief search this morning and got really confused. There seemed to be quite a few vendors still, some on Etsy, Ebay, etc... that offered the cart. Some didn't have the author listed and didn't have a really detailed description. I thought I'd ask the community... What's the "best" version of this game (truest to the film, including voice synthesis), and where's the best place to buy it? Of course I'd like to support the original author if at all possible. So yeah, anyone here knowledgeable on this?
TrekMD
I wrote a review over on RVG of the two versions: http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/forum/index.php?page=FixFelix Sorry it has no images but we need to repost the review and haven't gotten around to it. Maybe this helps.
CaptainBreakout
It sure does, thanks!!! Looks like Airwalk Studios version is the one for me. Is there an easy way to tell which version the cart sellers are selling? Example... https://www.lostclassicvgs.com/products/fix-it-felix-jr
TrekMD
If what they send you is the game shown on the video they posted, you'll be getting the Airwalk Studios version.
+Gemintronic
Probably the best version to get is the Airwalk Studios version with their own branding on it. I'd love to see more games from these guys (and a possible Genesis Game Maker). http://www.second-dimension.com/shop/product/25
CaptainBreakout
There's a ton of dirt cheap carts of Fix-it Felix on eBay... But no idea which version is on the cart.

+wongojack
I usually play the version that was leaked for PC. It was the one in the cabinets created for the movie. I believe I downloaded it from itch.io. There is also a configuration tool for it floating around that I believe I found on BYOAC.
CaptainBreakout
I like Second Dimension a lot. I'm planning on buying the Socks the Cat game soon.

Is there anything special meeded to be done on a PC to run it?

It was useful to have the configuration tool found here: http://dragonking.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?m=12&y=13&entry=entry131209-203307
ComputerSpaceFan
I've looked at several versions and your BEST one is the one leaked and runable on PC, the one wongojack mentioned, if you can get it somewhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w1w67X9DR8 Having said that the mini cab is a lot of fun too, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv1ubdfYgfo
TrekMD
There used to be an Android version but it appears to have been removed from Google Play. I still have it installed on my phone and tablets. It's pretty cool.
