Nice vertical parallax with the background colour change but the obvious cost there is that it's probably costing a tonne of CPU time that otherwise would be needed for doing softsprites in an actual game. That's it. Not sure if it will be a playable game at the end. But the design and particular the vertical color scrolling looks really great.
