Electric Radio Control Atari 2600 Console?

Now if I could just fine somebody crazy enough to built one. Take a electric control car and put a dead atari case on it. So it looks like the console is just driving around. I guess you could do the same with a Joystick. Would look kinda funny. Hmmm, Atari on the Go?

only if u made sure it was still a working 2600 w/ wireless jsticks and wireless a/v & batt power so u could play it while it was driving around.

Funny... A long time ago I thought about mounting my MacTV into a monster truck RC chassis and hooking up a RC rig to the keys on the keyboard so I could drive it around the house with me when I logged things into my collection.

 

I also thought it would be cool to get a bunch of Newtons, and mount them on RC frames, and write a program to drive them around. But then, I wanted to write extra programs that would send IR signals based on their driving behavior, but also receive IR signals from others and modify their behavior based on what others were doing. The idea was to see if any sets of rules led to coordinated group behavior evolving out of it.

 

Sadly, both projects (especially the latter) were beyond my ken, in terms of ambition, knowledge, skills AND cost...

maybe a herd of cybikos that give each other instructions as they get in range of each other? cybikos are cheap. pair them with cheap radio shack RC cars...

Speaking of radio controlled Atari, has everybody checked out Mike Beauchamp's site? Click Atari online and play Q*bert (last I checked) on his Atari system hooked up at his house! Really amazing piece of tech-wizardry. You can also play with a remote-controlled car and make his fish curse at him. Really.

Yeah, that's a pretty fun idea.

 

Hmm, though I think I STILL haven't put that one in the 2600 Connection... *sigh*
