Current issue with 1040STf - Video attached

Yep, kinda sounds like it. Boot up without your keyboard attached and see what happens.

 

Open an ASCII editor if you can and see if the key is a printable character or a function. 

 

You may may have a stuck contact.

Thanks for the reply. Sadly does same noise without the keyboard attached. Hope its just a stuck key. Any bootable editors I can put on a floppy?

It is normal behavior that repeating keyclick sound appears with detached keyboard - even if may sound absurd.

It may be stuck key, but it is rather some HW error - like broken keyboard chip. But much more common is cable/connector error. So you should look/check carefully it.
