My Small Video Game Collection

Recommended Posts

I'm excited to show you guys my small video game collection! It's not huge, but I consider it to be big enough for now! :)

First of all, I have pretty much all of my video game stuff in this Sega retail display case. From what I know, this type of display case is quite rare.

On the top of the display case, I have an Atari 2600 console ("Light Sixer"), along with a Wii Mini console box and a wooden pixel Mario and Luigi (which I made) in the background.

On the display case's top shelf, I have some assorted video game stuff. One of the main attractions for my video game collection is a CIB NES Action Set! I also have a few Atari 2600 cartridges lined up in the front.

At the bottom of the display case, I have some more assorted video game stuff.

I did forget to take a picture of my "gaming desk", where I have a Wii Mini cosnole, an Emerson CRT TV, a Game Boy clock, and a few other things.

That's pretty much it for my collection! I hope you guys enjoyed looking! :)

First of all, I have pretty much all of my video game stuff in this Sega retail display case. From what I know, these type of cases are quite rare. All I know about this thing is that my dad had this sitting in the basement for a long time, so I asked him if I could have it and he said yes. It also has lighting, but I need to get some clear shelves for light to shine through each shelf.

On the top of the case, I have my Atari 2600 Sunnyvale Light Sixer, along with a Wii Mini box and a wooden Mario and Luigi (which I made) in the background.

On the case's top shelf, I have some assorted video game goodness. The main attraction in the case is the NES Action Set CIB with CIB and loose games that my dad's friend gave to me! I also have a few loose Atari 2600 games lined up in the front.

At the bottom of my case, I have most of my collection of Atari 2600 arcade ports. I also have some CIB Atari 2600 games, but I forgot to take a picture of them. I also  forgot to take a picture of my gaming desk, where I have my Wii Mini ("worst Nintendo console ever", which it isn't), mini TV, Game Boy clock, and a few other things.

Behold, to all of the video game collectors out there! This is my "secret" drawer of BNIB video game stuff! As you can tell, I love bubble wrap! For the Atari 2600, I have Robot Tank, Battlezone, and Defender. I also have an NES and SNES Classic Edition. The prize of my collection is the Game Boy Pocket in the bottom left corner!

That's pretty much it for the collection! I hope you all enjoyed looking! I will provide updates to stuff that I get for the collection in the future.

I love it! Such a nice display too

I’d be interested in seeing the updated display case.

Here are some pictures of my newly organized display case! I would like to eventually get some more shelves for it.

I dig the setup- I like how you find related tat to display alongside the games. It's a fairly unique presentation (probably becuase you can only get away with it with a smaller collection. Or a LOT of space.)

I'm trying to remember what my collection was like when I was 17... I'm pretty sure it was just my old PlayStation, the former family Genesis, and a Gameboy Color. Oh, and a box of Atari stuff in the closet I couldn't actually use. I don't think my collection really got going until after graduation.

I can't believe that I had forgot to show this before! I had bought this months ago, but I never posted about it. The next item I had previously bought is this advertisement for Mario Bros. on the Atari 2600 and 5200. I had previously bought Mario Bros. for the Atari 2600, but I've presented it here for looks. I may have overpaid for the advertisement ($17) because it's just cut out from a comic book! However, it does look awesome! :P

There's a lot of craft stores that sell comic-book sized frames, if you'd rather not have the float mat look here. They're not expensive- less than $10.

It loads and plays most of the time; however, it seems like the circuit board inside the cartridge is a little loose (which makes the game not load sometimes). Maybe I need to get a special screwdriver so I can disassemble it and see what the problem is.

Might I recommend one of these? It's a basic lil' set that'll open a good 90% of the game carts out there. If you think you could get serious about tinkering, this set got recommended in another thread, and it's fairly comprehensive for all gaming things. Otherwise, a gamebit pair can easily be had on Ebay for about 2 bucks, if you can wait for shipping from China- a bit harder to use without a driver handle, but it's possible.

I figured that there were frames for comic books, but I never thought about getting a special frame for it at the time. The frame that I used for this was from a bundle pack (three 8.5" x 11" frames for $4.00), so I just used one of those.

Yes. Focus. These smaller-sized collections can be more interesting compared against the WOW Mega-Sized all-inclusive millionaire "efforts". Those collections just go down a list checking off boxes. They're all the same. A room full of cartridges. The videogame equivalent of a loud motorcycle going up and down the streets of those "old-people" boutique towns. The rider as senile as the residents.
