Finally, we're back to a game I can play.  687,300.

I managed to beat it twice, but died on the third loop.  I forgot about all the little annoyances this game has like grabbing the ladder when you mean to jump/knife, those pistol guys that follow you FOREVER (I don't they're in the arcade), and those damn paratroopers. I think I lost 90% of my lives on that boss.

I'm going to have to amend my score here.  I was accidentally playing the FDS version the first time around which I think might be easier (or at least different).  This time I didn't do nearly as well, but still respectable (and actually following the rules)

This took me some effort, but here's a small improvement.  I need more practice.

I've always struggled with it. Please give me a spread gun.

Agreed.  I could never get into this one back when.  Although as an adult, I'm enjoying it more than when I was a kid.

Well, I played a final few attempts yesterday and I see I failed to post my score

Nice. I gave up at stage two and I really tried.

This game isn't terrible but it feels archaic compared to Contra and Super C.  At least it's way harder.

I grew up playing Rush 'n Attack in the arcades.  The NES version is actually pretty nice and includes two extra stages and some changed bosses and weapons (I miss the flamethrower).  Although it's a little easier than the arcade version, I think it captures the feel pretty well.

If the NES version is easier than the arcade version must be absolutely brutal.

It was your standard 80's quarter muncher, so yes it was.  The bosses in particular were much harder IMHO.  There's also more types of enemies including bazooka soldiers, crawling soldiers, and regular AK-47 guys, not to mention just more guys on the screen at once.  The NES version made up for this with those yellow guys that follow you wherever you go and have a gun.
