Very nice!

One small suggestion - could the volume of the music be turned down a bit? In my opinion it clashes with the sound fx quite a bit.

I second a volume control, it's in the way of sound affects..

You might leave it loud on title and selection screen but in the background during the game would be nice.

New version 0.90

New version of Adventure Ponies is available.
Adjusted the volume of sound effects/level music so the music doesn't drown out the sound effects.

Hope everyone enjoys ?

I found the original Adventure Ponies flash game on archive.org if any one is interested.

https://archive.org/details/adobeflash-adventureponies

Since Adobe Flash is legacy now, I found a way to run it as well, using the Adobe Flash Player 32 (specifically the  "Download the Flash Player projector content debugger").

In the flash game, you can unlock all the characters on the "Pony Select" screen by typing in the word: CELESTIA

In the Atari version you can unlock the characters on the "Pony Select" screen by holding down the HELP key and pressing up on the joystick.

Just have to offer my complements.  My daughter, who is all of age 4, absolutely loves this game and I love that it gets her to use and appreciate my Atari.  So just know, there is a 4 year old in Canada who loves the Ponies who adores this game.

Thank you!

Awesome.  Thanks man, I really appreciate it.

It makes me happy that your daughter adores the game, and that it brings a younger generation to the old Atari computer.  ?

For some reason, adobe flash player wasn't playing the adventure ponies flash game correctly on my system. I did a search and this version runs on my system:

link:

http://kenny.next-era.net/mlp8bit.zip

zip file from link:

mlp8bit.zip 702.42 kB · 2 downloads

I don't know if this is the issue you ran into or not, but I remember an update to Adobe Flash caused the original flash game to hang when it was loading.  This happened in the middle of my porting it over to the Atari, and using the Flash version as a template.  I ended up having to find and keep an older version of Flash so I could continue running the game.

However, I didn't have that issue with the stand alone Adobe player from here:

I have created a manual for Adventure Ponies, in electronic form using Neon.

Find more information on Neon here:

Please find the Manual on the attached ATR.

After it boots into the NEON program, choose (R) for read, and the press enter when it asked for the filespec.

Use the joystick to navigate links.

Didn't know about Neon, very cool!

Thanks...my next goal with Neon is to start testing it with FujiNet.  I need to create a disk with the N: handler and Neon.  And then either set up a TFNS server, or create a website and see if I can browse with Neon using the N: device.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
