What's the value of a loose Video Jogger cartridge?

Recommended Posts

I know the Digital Press value, just looking for a second opinion. Thanks!

Arcade Restoration Workshop! (Cart Commander) has it listed at $50.00.

Tell me you have one...

Oh, and in case you don't have Excel - the list in the above post says: $100.00 Cart, $50.00 Manual, $50.00 Box

Thanks guys. The DP value is also $50, so I guess it's somewhere between $50-100. I saw one this weekend and didn't buy it. I was actually thinking that the DP value included the controller, but now I see that the controller itself is listed at $125. If it's not there when I go back I'm going to be kicking myself for weeks!

This particular cartridge is much rarer than the guide suggests. If I were you, I'd wrap this in plastic and handle it with gloves. If you're going to put it on eBay - which is probably the best thing to do - make sure your reserve is set at at least $1000. You don't want to get screwed by some unscrupulous collector trying to get it from you for anything less than full market value. These things don't come by very often, and there are many collectors out there who are just itching for this cartridge.

Whatever you do, don't believe anyone who tells you it's not worth much. Clearly they're just trying to talk-down the value so they can get a copy for themselves.

Thank goodness we have price guides to tell us when people are screwing the hobby.

Don't listen to Andrew, he is just messing around. ;)

I'd say $100 - $150 on a good day. 8)

Nah,

These guys are just pulling your leg. You can find these about as often as Pac-man cartridges. I will do you a favor and buy that one for $10 for your troubles and even chip in for shipping. :D

Congrads on your find!

Coming from a collector like you, I'd take that price with a grain of salt. As good a time as any to mention that I'm soon releasing "cartridge tongs" - pretty much along the lines of those tweezers used by stamp collectors to handle their stamps. These new tongs will let you handle your cartridges without getting damaging finger oils on the carts/label.

Hopefully the rarity guides will soon start to introduce gradings - so we can up the prices on those items which have been exclusively handled with my new cartridge tongs.

I'd suggest a grading something like (in decreasing condition...)

SPANKING = absolutely brand spanking new

MINT = really mint, no i mean it!

MINTISH = mint! i've only looked at it and played it a few times so its not really mint but I want to think it is

NEW = shop damaged, possibly returned. Basically I have the box and most of the components, but that's about it. Actually, if I bought this new in a shop like this, i'd take it back and complain

EBAYMINT = "Mint" as per any item listed as mint on eBay. Which means, that there's extensive wear, item is used (a lot!) and most of the extras are missing, torn, worn, and damaged. But at least it shows up on the search and gets more people to look at it - and who complains anyway, it looked mint to me.

FUCKED = typical cartridge, collectors don't bother about these - just about the only fucking thing you can do with them is PLAY them, and who does that these days.

I'm sure there are other categories, but that's my grading system.

Cheers

A

Your missing the one....

MIB-2X - Took it out of the MIB to verified it worked. Played it a few times then resealed it and now claim it to be MIB again.

I only recognize two cartridge grades. All the cartridges in my collection are either in "mint" condition or else they are in "formerly mint" condition.
