Omega-TI #1 Posted August 6, 2019 Who knows what the reasons could be: 1) There was a power outage and your home router was out or not on a UPS. 2) You just wanted to try it out to see if it would work. 3) You were at a TI meeting or Fest West. 4) You don't have Internet at home. 5) You take your TI camping and NEEDED to log into the BBS or use Chatti. Back in 2000 or so, my old Nokia worked as a standard modem with a serial cable attached to it, and I connected to a number of services just because I could.
