adam1977
I had an old and battered CX40, which was beyond saving and so I decided to mod it by fitting an arcade joystick from eBay. It was a very tight fit inside, with much cutting and bodging, it's not very pretty, especially underneath, but i got there in the end and it works perfectly: I'll understand if people hate what i've done, but I like it which is the main thing 14
_The Doctor__
all that matters is if it is accurate and does the diagonals as easily as up down left right... :) looks good to me.

vitoco
You've rotated the base 180°! Was that in order to fit the mechanics inside it?
akator
I love this mod. I never thought an arcade stick would fit. Have your scores improved with the new control?

adam1977
Looks good, wonder if the base could be implemented with an original CX40 top?

Some years ago I bought some microswitches and all the necesary to replace the board of one of my CX40, but every time I open the joystick when it is not responding, I just clean the contacts and replace the adhesive film. I have to schedule some time to start with the mod.
adam1977
I bought the arcade joystick last year with the intention of modding it straight away, but life gets in the way and sometimes you just have to not think about things and do them, i'm glad I did this joystick though and if i've inspired others to have a go then all the better
