Why can't I find a working .png to .prg converter?!

I've tried literally a dozen programs that Google results showed and none of them can do what I want them to do. A couple of them tried to, but I got error messages. The rest were too complicated and I couldn't figure them out. All I want is a small program that converts .png picture files to .prg files. Is that too much to ask?!

It may indeed be too much to ask, as converting a 24 bit PNG to a max 16 color C64 bitmap is an incredibly tall order.  What is the source PNG resolution and size?

I tend to use GangEd by The Gang. It will convert JPEG, PNG etc to C64 graphics formats and can generate an executable PRG out of it as well.
