ATARIPITBULL

Games your collection should have!!

Recommended Posts

I had been shooting my mouth off lately about how I have to start buying only the ultra rare boxed Atari 2600 games, but just this Saturday I was going through my 2600 games and noticed that some very easy to get Atari games, I did not have in my collection. I did not have a boxed, or sealed copy of Atari's Surround, Combat, Donkey Kong (Atari, not the Coleco version), Star Ship or Breakout. I bought all of these games on Ebay, but Star Ship on Sunday.

I think some of you other people better start looking through your collection and make sure you have all the easy to get games before you start blowing $350.00 for a boxed copy of Chase the Chuck Wagon.

Must haves?

-Tapper

-Spitfire Attack

-Megamania

All are not that hard to find..and probably more fun combined than a $355 copy of a rare game.

Star Ship is hard to find. I recently aquired the gatefold version, so I might be willing to trade my other star ship box if you got something I need (like slot machine or basic math)

I don't know where you buy your games from Kepone, but a complete boxed copy of Tapper is not that easy, or cheap to come by. I have a loose copy of Tapper, but nothing else.

Oh..I thought you would mean loose games as well as boxed.

I only have a loose copy of Tapper.

I have 14 boxed 2600 games..2 are Brazilian versions of Pitfall and Bobby is Going Home.

The only thing listed that I dont have is California games. I would trade it for the California games and any of the following:

51 blackjack (cart only)

earthworld comic book

realsports boxing instructions

only because I'm not really looking for California games, and I would want to atleast trade the star ship for something that I really need. Do you happen to have any of those items above for trade? * crosses fingers *

The 3 games I listed are all loose.

As for boxed games, I have too many to list now.

Spitfire Attack isn't easy to come by sometimes. You should check EBay though. Do a search for the title.

Yes, I could also throw in a Earthworld comic book. So My California Games and my Earthworld comic book for your Star Ship.

I remember a boxed copy of CtCW going for $1k, so the current price is not half as bad as it may seem. If you wait a couple more years, they'll probably sell for $150

Cheers,

Marco

If I won $5000 in the lottery, I'd still be in the hole.

It's good practice to know the 3 black labels you should always grab when seen:

Slot Machine

Star Ship

Miniature Golf

... and I'd make a case for Math Grand Prix.

It took me 3 years to find Miniature Golf! Just 'cause thier Black label, doesn't mean they're constantly availible.... :ponder:

...but as for 2600 gotta haves, I'd go for:

Megamania

Off the Wall

Threshold

Adventure

Yar's Revenge

...and I have an odd facination for Bobby is Going Home, don't ask me why.

I like Bobby. But try to find yourself a copy of Lilly Adventure (aka Alice's Abenteuer). It's much more challenging than Bobby is Going Home.
