Master Phruby
I have a sata interface for the PS2 and wondering what is the largest drive I could use with it? I assume it will also work with a SSD.
RARusk
I've heard around 2TB.
Master Phruby
A 1tb ssd is only about $120. It could be interesting to see how it does.
CatPix
There's no reason why SSD wouldn't do, as long as the SATA chip is standard. Load time will probably be shorter, but maybe not by much, as I'm pretty sure the channel bus inside the PS2 are slower than what you ahve in most computers, and certainly slower than the SSD itself. This is probably correct. The first-party hardware only runs at ATA-33 speeds (33 MB/sec). My guess is that the SATA interface is just a SATA to ATA bridge, and it's still ATA-33 on the PS2 side.
