+Philsan
Boxing is a 1980 simple game, but nice against a friend. Moreover, Eugene played it in The Walking Dead...
+FujiSkunk
Boxing is very good for what it is, with decent AI and good two-player fighting. Obviously it's not as varied as something like Street Fighter or Tekken, but it's still an entertaining way to go a few rounds.
MARIO130XE
Hmmm, maybe it's my personal vote, but the music kills the game on C64. Graphics are okay, but hell..... the music isnt 80's an sounds wrong like hell. Even the VCS Version looks and absolutely sounds better.... STE'86
thats very strange, as the game as been reviewed by multiple indie retro review youtube sites which you can google and pretty much every one of them has praised Saul Cross's music and been singing along with it as they play. each to his own i suppose. I agree, on the 2600, the beat of the cop running along with the sound effects of jumping and picking up items is as good as any music. The same with a pause in the sound... like bending over, waiting for an elevator or going up an escalator... adds a bit of tension.
carlsson
Regarding the music, Wrong <> Bad. But sometimes you can on purpose use different music than what people would expect. Fred Gray pointed out that the character in Mermaid Madness is fat (and thus supposed to be clumsy to move), so thus he used ballet music the The Nutcracker and Swan Lake to contrast that. Rybags
I don't see a problem with the music and don't think that modern releases whether new concepts or ports of 35 year old games should try to be "period correct". The game was created within the spirit of those old cop/bandit chase movies of the Charlie Chaplin era and the music is fitting. Of course like just about any game the option to turn it off is desirable.
STE'86
pressing the left arrow key on a real c64 or the key to the left of the number 1 on vice will toggle the music on and off. 2

tjlazer
I feel this port is excellent and is better than the Atari 800 version. Well done! And it's great to finally get this port on the Commodore 64 after all these years!
pseudografx
The port is very well done. I prefer the Atari 800 music but that's just the nostalgia. What actually grinds my gears is the pixel that is sometimes missing at the edges of the stairs in the escalator animation
STE'86
apparently thats a small raster glitch. it will be fixed for the 1.1 release on the compilation cartridge

STE'86
Tony will as usual release the source code for this like he has with Keystone Kapers and Chopper Command. so one of your A8 coders could convert this.
