ScottMace #1 Posted October 4, 2019 My grandfather died in 1995 and in his stuff I found an Atari 2600 that was never opened. The box isn’t in great shape but it’s not damaged. I’ve held onto it for years but now I’m considering selling it. How much would it be worth ? And what’s a good place to sell it. Any info would be appreciated. CapitanClassic #2 Posted October 4, 2019 Likely between $50-$140. https://www.pricecharting.com/game/atari-2600/atari-2600-system There are at least 4 different versions of the 2600. The highly sought after Heavy Sixer, manufactured in Sunnyvale is worth the most. There is a similar Light Sixer (six front switches), the Four Switch version, the Darth Vader (all black), and Atari Jr. Boxes and instructions will increase the value. Keatah #3 Posted October 4, 2019 It is worth exactly and precisely what someone will pay for it. Never more, never less.

racerx #5 Posted October 4, 2019 I mean, if the box isn't in great shape it's damaged, no?

Keatah #7 Posted October 4, 2019 (edited) You can add 10% to the average value of what you see. It's important to keep the prices high because when something gets too cheap it projects the wrong image. And videogames have a bad enough rap as it is. From causing crime to encouraging manchild behavior. Edited October 4, 2019 by Keatah
CPUWIZ #8 Posted October 4, 2019 I have a brand new Corvette, it sat outside for the last 20 years, uncovered. How much is it worth?

onemoretime #10 Posted October 4, 2019 This is always a weird deal for me since I bought a box with a brick in it instead of a VCR at Circuit City years ago. I still open every big purchase at the checkout line.
