Is this a good deal or not?

Greeting fellow 2600 enthusiasts!  I am just now looking into getting a 2600 and recapturing some of my childhood memories with that awesome system. I personally blame the Immoral John Hancock for this, as his channel has inspired me to run out and pick up a 2600.

So i started looking in local retro shops and found a Vader 2600 in the box with all of the hookups, two joy sticks, and an in the box Pac-Man for $60 USD.  I was assured that it had been tested and was in perfect functioning order.

My questions are:

1) Is $60 a fair price for an in the box Vader?

2) What should I do to test the system before I purchase it?

Thanks in advance guys!

Absolutely a great deal! I'd go for that in a heartbeat.

Is the retro shop selling the Vader willing to pull it out of the box and hook it up for you to prove it works? Atari 2600's are pretty resilient machines. In my experience they usually always work if they were well taken care of and not left in a humid shed or somewhere where the mice can chew the cables up. I'd buy it regardless and take the chance at that price.

They are willing to let me test it before I buy it. The box is not sealed, just in the box. Which I didn’t really care about but having seen it in the box I now want it in the box. Lol.

Thank you!
