mr_intv
So today at a local flee market I came across a French Canadian NASL Soccer sleeve. I have never seen one before. How common are these sleeves? I’ve got many French Canadian game box variations but this is my first sleeve. Even more interesting is the game in the sleeve was World Cup Soccer, not NASL. Pic coming soon.

+JasonlikesINTV
Very rare. I have zero sleeves. Only seen them on eBay and a few in person in others' collections.
+cmart604
Awesome pickup! As Jason said these are very rare. Congrats!
+intellivotion
very cool! That sleeve was most likely supposed to come with a standard NASL Soccer made in HK for the US market. That said, I like the unusual combination
+intvsteve
Nice pickup! Looks like a wedding present! Something old, something "new", something borrowed, something blue... OK, stretched that to its limit... 2
+Steve Jones
Odd that they didn’t put the French version on the spine too, “The Soccer of the NASL”, why use only 2 words when 5 will do...
+intvsteve
Lol... I'd have to check to see if the opposite spine has the other language. I once jokingly said all those extra silent letters and extra flourishes were added to French in the olden days of the printing press so printers could charge more. mr_me
Should be english on one side french on the other. I suspect sleeves were only used in 1980/81 and only in predominantly french speaking parts of the country. I expect most threw them out. So they should be fairly rare. I don't think sleeves for all the 1980 releases have been found. As an aside, does the price tag on world cup soccer say anything; name of the store? mr_intv
Yes the opposite spine is written in French. The price tag on WC Soccer does not have the name of a store on the remaining sticker. I’d like to find others now.
mr_intv
I’ll be picking up another NASL Soccer box to use the sleeve with.

I assume it had the World Cup manual with it? The sleeved versions had a different type of manual than the regular two language French Canadian manuals. Pic coming when I tear myself away from the Canucks game.

mr_me
There's a partial list here. https://intvfunhouse.com/mattel/ I would think all the 1980 releases had them except maybe Poker & Blackjack and Word Fun.
