Still use external floppy with an internal Gotek?

I just received my U.K. 520STE. I'll start converting it soon and upgrading it with 4MB of RAM and a Gotek. I was curious about the Gotek. I know you can only emulate one drive with the Gotek. I'm assuming that means I could hook a real external drive up to my STE as drive B and copy back and forth just like if I had a real internal floppy drive as drive A? Will someone confirm that for me?
