Testing the game under emulation, CoolCV and ColEm shows the walls to be completely white most of the time: In fact the first four positions of their movement towards you the walls cycle from light green to medium to dark green and then back to medium green again. At the fifth position they change to white and stay that way. This cycling of greens is what the original SG-1000 game does but the green cycling continues all the time - the walls do not change to solid white or grey (start video at 52s): On a stock NTSC ColecoVision over RF (and on a CRT), a similar thing is observed to the above except the wall doesn't change to white, instead it changes to a mixture of white, grey and cyan that changes every time the wall moves position: Regardless, the Phoenix does seem to be the furthest away from what is intended. I was hoping some of the 2600 problems I had mentioned back in Nov. 2019 would have been fixed, but I am still experiencing the squished menu on the 2600 core and the game not displaying at the correct resolution or screen ratio (stretched across the screen). Is this ever going to be addressed? Or was it and I missed the memo? Is there a fix for this? I suspect if I hook it up to my old (4:3) tube TV it will probably look normal, but I usually play on my widescreen 32" (16:9) TV. The CV core of the Phoenix displays everything perfectly. I hope this is being addressed.. I'd like to have a better experience playing the Atari 2600 games...
Hastor #879 Posted March 17, 2021 I checked this when I recently got mine back out as well, and just have decided to pretend there's not an Atari core until an update. I also don't think a CRT would make much of a difference as there is only HDMI output, and HDMI outputs precise locations of pixels etc. Even if plugged into one of the few CRTs that had HDMI, or converted to composite/component, I'd expect it to look the same, though maybe slightly better from being forced to 4x3. It seemed to have more issues than just being the wrong AR though. Still dragging out my real CV with the Atari adapter, and my Symphony cart, when I wanna actually play Atari.
CaptainBreakout #880 Posted March 20, 2021 I use a 1st gen HD 4:3 CRT, Samsung... with and HDMI input that will do 1080i and 720p. I'm waiting for the Phoenix tho. I got in on the 2nd batch. When it arrives I'll let everyone know how it behaves on this TV in regards to the above issues.

I also have a Samsung HD CRT (16:9 though). The Phoenix works great on that but has different problems on my other HDMI displays.
