ApolloBoy #1 Posted July 6, 2003 The Vectrex! I was looking up info on the Vectrex this morning, and when I heard it was pretty good, I decided to try it out on MESS. I was amazed! It didn't have that much games, but most of the games were very good. I might consider actually getting one now.
Vectrex-Atari #2 Posted July 6, 2003 The vectrex is the coolest for me. I was impressed with the sound and fun that it has. But they are expensive. A working unit is from 80-100 dollars from what I have seen. The games with overlays are 20-30. Sean Kelly still sells the Vectrex mulitcart for 70 I believe. JB #3 Posted July 6, 2003 I love my vectrex. ... Random tangent: Why are there no DECENT Vectrex emulators? DVE is the only one I'd even consider close to reasonable.
ApolloBoy #4 Posted July 6, 2003 Random tangent: Why are there no DECENT Vectrex emulators? DVE is the only one I'd even consider close to reasonable. Well I use MESS because DVE doesn't run on XP.
SS #5 Posted July 6, 2003 Who doesn't love the Vectrex? A totally unique home gaming experience. You have to play an early 80's Vector-based arcade game to equal it. Pick up a real one if you can afford it / find one. Multi-cart is the way to go, too.

I have a second computer made out of old hardware just for MS-DOS compatibilty. Hardware's not good enough for an XP machine, but quite adequate for most DOS gaming purposes. eric_ruck #7 Posted July 7, 2003 You definitely wanna lay out for a Vectrex and a multicart. There's nothing like playing games on a real Vectrex monitor, buzz and everything. Also springy analog sticks. Eric

Eric Yah. No raster screen can properly capture the look of a vector tube.

junglehunter #11 Posted July 7, 2003 I could've got a complete Vectrex with about 20 complete games for $200 but no...I had to have the incredulous Xbox. Now I hate myself...
