invisible kid
I was getting green instead of the usual background blue. Opened it up and adjusted that pot. Color would go haywire while adjusting, flashing red, blue, or green and was unstable. Decided to try to replace, but received a part much bigger and 4 connections instead of three: Is there any way to use this new replacement connecting it with wires instead of directly on the board? Or do I have to hunt down a correct replacement? Thanks for any help.
andymanone
If the value of both resistors is identically, so it should work. The both pins in the middle of the bigger resistor are bridged (it´s equal to the third pin of the smaller resistor). To adapt it to the holes on the PCB, you could try to bend gently the pins.... Otherwise you can also solder a short extension to the resistor pins, to make it fitable. Gtx., andY
invisible kid
Thanks! I will try to gently bend first, if I cannot get that going I will try the short extensions. Thanks again, and thanks for the bridging info.
invisible kid
Hey, we did it! It might not look pretty, but it seems pretty solid. I attached a bit of wire to the fat post, and carefully bent the skinnier ones to line-up. It looks good! I just eye-balled to the blue background. The red letters in Donkey Kong are not the easiest to see irl, but I think that might just be the way it is... Thanks andY!
