dsullo
I picked up this Rolling Thunder Arcade machine from the curb a while back. It came with manuals and keys. The power cord was cut but we fixed that. For the first month or so it worked great. Recently I have been experiencing static sound and the game resets during play or you get a blank screen. See picture I attached. Unfortunately I have no skills to even figure out what could be wrong. I live in NORTHERN NJ - Caldwell. Is anyone around me who may be able to make a house call? If not I may look to sell it as needs repair.

SoundGammon
My guess it's the power supply! I'm in Butte Montana, so a ways to go fix! Try putting an ad on Craigslist!
dsullo
So not just the cord but the entire power supply. Difficult to swap out?
Keatah
MY guess is if you can repair/replace a cord, then the supply itself would be moderate difficulty. There's just more wires to match up. If you can find an exact replacement, it would be a 1:1 easy swap.
schuwalker
I would bank on the power supply as well. Resets are usually caused when the +5 volts has dropped. Rolling Thunder is one game I would love to own. First saw one, newly released, at our local Aladdin's Castle (St.Charles Mall - rip). Many of my tokens were dropped in that coin bucket. RJ
Make sure this didn't happen. Thats the underside of the power supply.
dsullo
I had my brother in law come by. We checked all the wires and connectors to make sure nothing was lose. Not really knowing how these things work makes it difficult to really know. I took some pictures of the inside. If anyone see anything out of the ordinary can you let me know. Anyone near Caldwell NJ know how to fix these please let me know
Keatah
If you can't get this going then just buy an ATGames cabinet. It will have modern electronics which are somewhat modular and far more reliable. At the very least there will be a sense of familiarity. And there is a modding scene growing up around it too! These vintage cabs practically require you having had electronics experience and/or courses if you want to work on them. And they will STILL remain fidgety and recalcitrant.
