I hope something like this makes it into the final release! @TheNameOfTheGame Sure, would be great as it's an iconic title screen and would complete this excellent port IMHO. I am also running a conversion of the box art for it to see how that turns out. However I'll be happy with whatever Rensoup and the team comes up with, (featuring mice or otherwise ) - I am just happy we have cut scenes and the quality ingame animation/effects, coupled with the trademark game play. All PoP platform releases were and always have delivered a mixture of frustration and exhilaration when you make progress. It's the whole package with nice puzzle elements, tricky timing and ... did I mentioned the animation?! It gives you time to work things out (for the most part), before committing. I love dangling off ledges and the like. (Not in real life BTW heh heh!) I spent hours on playing PoP in my teens. Can't wait to turn full 40-something hermit decades later and get into it again (gonna look like Gollem when I emerge!). Bonus being that it's running on our fav 8-Bit! I actually thought that reply was in relation to my post regarding the .CAR image incompatibilities with SIDE3 and methods to resolve them. However, TBH, perhaps it's a language barrier thing - But I have no idea what his post is about, it's context is completely lost on me.

So you're using big random words in an attempt to take the piss out of me for questioning whether there was any hope left regarding FJC and Rensoup working out this issue together considering all the issues regarding .CRT images of this title on SIDE3, as a result of a certain outburst in another thread that started as an innocent question by another member? Atari8guy
Not sure if my post will add any value for the troubleshooting but no sense in my keeping my results a secret, especially since they are different with different machines... Machine 1 XEGS, U1MB (Firmware 4.00), Sophia2, Pokeymax v2. I've tried all 3 cart versions(via AVG) and the DD version(via fujinet) and all 3 cart versions stop at the dancing girl with the left hip out (I call the this the left hip error - viewer left, it would be her right hip). The DD version boots to the XBIOS (I'm assuming) menu and if I press 1 to load the first file it continues to boot, it does go through some boot errors but ultimately the dancing girl comes up and I get the left hip error again. - NOTE on this machine the XEGS switch is active, so it will boot to Missile Command without the keyboard connected. Machine 2 800XL, U1MB (Firmware 3.10), Sophia2. Atarimax .car version(via AVG) works!! Yeah!, the DD version does not. I don't get the XBIOS screen but it does crash with the left hip error. Happy to try different iterations on these machines if it helps. I also have Atarimax cartridges I can try and SIO2PC(RespeQt) and S-Drive Max are other options. Mhmm... same here (as I have not upgraded from that version...) Try the Megacart and SIC images. If they all work (like here), then you are onto something, there... The more definitive test would be to also upgrade that 800XL to latest BIOS and see how it goes (as long as you have what you need to revert it back to 3.10, whenever needed). My general adoption of updates for the firmware is to wait until the community has tested it a bit better. I'm a slow adopter (that's why I still use 8 bits...lol). On my XEGS, my version isn't the latest either is 4.00, I think the current version is 4.02 or 4.03?

That's interesting, because while I've seen the DD image do the dancing girl crash on my hardware, I've never seen the XBIOS menu come up. Not doubting you in the least, but am wondering if this might not be an XEGS-specific issue due to the system ROM.

Anecdotally it seems to be the case, but it could be user error or the magnetic fields in my basement (jk)...who knows. I wonder if any else has tried with XEGS...
