Prince of pcnsla ?

The image looks great. And there are vertically 22 more possible.

IMO the title should be readable on a title screen.

Weird coincidence.. I tried a different arm position a couple of months ago,

needs more work on the lettering and background, but I have no intention to finish this, just a quick job to see how it looks..

I know I should not post anything here or not welcome by certain(s)...

But here's my 2cents and just about half a hour wasting so no problem:

by TIX with logo more on top.xex

Technical notes:

-> Logo title letters moved a bit up so PFs can have DLIs to be different colours than he and she under);

-> Image is in Antic4 charmode (yellow/blue are PF3);

-> Sword can now be coloured by PMGs (none is used untill now);

The title logo letters could and should be remaked to look better.

Probably something more can also be improved...

Thanks.

Going out to do other things.

This looks really nice - I’m away from my Atari stuff until after work, but how many scanlines does this image require? In other words, will it work on a 240 line NTSC display?

Like the 1st one much more.

Yes and have to agree with Emkay though isn't less times I did that logo title letters should not be behind so will move them later.

PMGs are used to colour (2grays on the sword that I just started) and think also can have shining colours stars:

Even that isn't and allmost will not be I'll end it soon, maybe for tomorrow...

P.s.- Also title logo letters also look better single white colour.

:thumbsup:

another solution for adding colour without actually adding colour.
In the print design trade we would call this "duotone"

transitioning  from the light tones of one colour thru to the dark tones of another. i quite like this effect tbh.

That really does suit it quite nicely.

"Cat"? Where's the mouse?

I guess you skim over anything I write...

Jokes aside, I'd consider your take on that picture if it had some form of mouse... I'd much prefer to have characters instead of just vista but the mouse is a compromise.

that's a little too extreme, the idea with the vertically oriented sword was to have something that plays nicer with the A8 limits (the horizontal sword is really taxing in terms of color count)

The picture uses 216 lines so no issue

As I wrote. There are 22 line more available.

The picture lower and the title a with a lesser  height.

I stuck to 216 lines a while back, can't remember why but probably some annoying technical issue.

The problem with going beyond 224 lines is that it's going to clip on a lot of TVs anyway, so the issue will be similar.  There's no rule that says the logo must be 100% readable... if it looks good it's ok to bend the rules.

it would help maybe if you converted it using the white as pmgs so we can all see what areas are too much for overlay

Sure looks nicer... but still 5 colors...

I spent many weeks working on a tool to get more colors for PoP, so if the title pic uses 5, I'm going to be pissed.

You'd probably waste all the PMGs on that white color. It's generally not a good idea to convert a single color to PMG

This is a test I did (using my tool), and that's about as many colors as I could get. As you can see, I got a blue background and kept all 5 greys

yeah, the problem is the greys are not really grey, they are all simply tonal placeholders for light,medium,dark shades for each element. so managing to preserve them all is obviously not going to help you in the end as very few of them would stay grey in the ideal final image.

I think you are right.

My old overlay calculation program ends up using all available PMGs for that white color (Of course, it does not use very complex techniques...?).

But in mode 4, at the end, there are (almost) 6 colors (blue is the additional color in the picture below).
