Omega-TI
Do you run a P-Box without a standard, or third party floppy drive controller and disk drives? If so, what cards are you running in your P-Box as a replacement? Edited December 10, 2019 by --- Ω --- Clarification of question
Opry99er
CorComp 9900 FDC (capable of DSDD and DSK4) It also has the Millers Graphics ROMs in it because the CorComp ones were crap. Best controller card I've ever owned. (I had a Myarc several years ago).
+jedimatt42
This thread has been started twice and both set of replies have failed to read the question. Maybe it is just so traditional to have a floppy controller in your PEB that no one is in the situation being asked about. Except non-peb owners that get by with a TIPI or CF7/nanopeb. -M@
HOME AUTOMATION
My third party floppy drive controller is also a CorComp. I have the original ROMS and two broken(heads) TEAC drives. But I can still, READ somewhat. Guess I'm just cantankerous!
+OLD CS1
I would try highlighting the negation in your first post (italics, whatever,) and maybe changing the title to denote the thesis of the thread. BTW, as soon as Albert fixes my privileges in these subs I will combine the duplicate threads.
+adamantyr
I think saying standard and 3rd party also confused things. Just say "without a floppy disk controller".
RXB
As on other thread: Using a P-Box with out Hard Drives or Floppy Drives is like cutting the wings of you Airplane, this defeats the reason for owning it. 2
+jedimatt42
I'm close to removing my floppy, cause I only use it to verify that force command can copy to/from floppy. I have no use otherwise. I have better, more friendly storage via TIPI, in my opinion. My peb is full and that floppy is the least used component. -M@

Same here, which prompted my question of others. Since I installed my TIPI, my disk drive and HxC have become rather redundant. I sort of figured removing the FDC might also lessen the load on my aging P-Box power supply, sure not by much, but then again, if I'm not using it, why not.
Opry99er
Well... if anyone goes this route and would like to offload an HxC, keep me in mind!
